Running - trail (Specific endurance ) 2:57:46 [3] 19.01 mi (9:21 / mi) +2372ft 8:22 / mi
slept:6.5 shoes: Nike Pegasus 36 Trail

Ran on the trails out and back from portballintrae, roughly 90 mins each way. As usual with the earlier starts for me it took a while to get into a rythym but settled into it after a few miles. Wasn’t too happy with my shoe choice. I wore the relatively new Pegasus trails which I was starting to like but they didn’t feel good on these trails. (My hoka challengers were thrown in the bin last week after I discovered they were torn down the outside - a new pair was ordered and have arrived today (Monday)). Nonetheless the “out” portion of the run went fairly well. Definitely felt more tired on the return than i have on other recent runs on this course although kept going at a steady enough pace. This could be partly down to fuelling. I had not packed any gels or tailwind before leaving for the caravan so had to buy the dreaded lucozade sport from the shop on Saturday night. Drank 3 bottles, roughly one per hour. Not something I intend to repeat again but it got me through.
