Very wet and windy so decided to head up to Ballyboley Forest. Whilst enjoyable, it was very hard going in thick snow, approx 10 inches in most places. Despite the slow pace due to the conditions, it did feel like a moderate effort. Followed up with 4 miles on the treadmill as my feet were freezing.

Felt like a good workout and generally felt much better than the last 2 runs.

Easy run with 6 hill sprints. Felt tired and lethargic when I got up and delayed heading out for the run until mid afternoon. Felt similar during the run itself. Hill sprints felt good.

No calf trouble.

Easy/slow run on quite deep snow and ice. Used trail shoes. Bitterly cold and windy but didn’t fancy using the treadmill. Felt crap and sluggish, particularly compared to last night. Didn’t feel like I could have ran any faster even without the snow. Think 3 days of travelling has caught up on me. No injury issues though and again the calf was fine.

On an overnight stay in Liverpool so went for a run from the hotel. Felt smooth and easy, probably due to a bit less mileage over the last few days. No trouble from my calf thankfully.

6 x strideouts after the run, again no issue with calf.

Easy run on treadmill. Had to cut it a bit short as I had to catch a flight to London! No issues with calf, hopefully it was just me being paranoid after the injury last year. I have done quite a bit of foam rolling over the past day or two and also been wearing compression socks which I always feel help my calves to feel fresher. Will continue to monitor.

Short easy run on the treadmill in the gym following 1hr30 S&C session. Calf felt good so wanted to try a short easy run as a test following plenty of warmup including fairly heavy leg weights. Seemed ok.
