Second long run of the weekend so fancied running somewhere different. Headed to Stormont Estate which has a 3 mile loop of good runnable trails, albeit fairly hilly with the loop being formed of one long uphill and one long downhill. Legs felt quite stiff, particularly around the groin area. It was also a very cold day so found it hard to get going and sustain any kind of pace. Stopped a bit short of the scheduled time as I had arrived back at the car park and was too cold/tired to do another loop. Nutrition/fuelling wasn’t great on this run which is probably why I felt tired at the end - had one gel and some water with electrolyte tabs. Have ordered some “maurten” to try on future long runs and possibly in the race after reading good reviews.
Good time on feet over the weekend though and feel like Saturdays run was particularly good.
