Running - trail and road (Specific endurance ) 2:30:12 [3] 17.03 mi (8:49 / mi) +1564ft 8:07 / mi

Up early for this one. Last food was at approx 7.30pm last night and only had water on the run as I didn’t bring any electrolyte tabs on holiday. Felt tired and sluggish from the start although started to feel good towards the end and the last 3 miles were my quickest (in fact mile 17 was quickest of all). Felt like I could keep going at the end. No injury issues.

Running - trail and road (Easy/moderate) 1:19:39 [3] 9.18 mi (8:41 / mi) +859ft 7:58 / mi

First run in Malta. Managed to find some nice coastal trails near the hotel. Felt very sluggish until last couple of miles, probably due to the long journey and late arrival last night. Picked it up a bit at the end. Nice to run in shorts and t-shirt though!

Thursday Feb 8 #

Treadmill (Moderate/tempo) 1:11:04 [3] 10.0 mi (7:06 / mi) +479ft 6:48 / mi

10 mile club run. First 4 miles at an easier pace to keep everyone together then pace quickened once our group broke away. Splits thereafter were 7.03, 6.45, 6.36, 6.37, 6.52 & 6.39. This one felt much better than the last few quicker runs although that may be due to the slower start. Feeling noticeably stronger this week and that the training is starting to kick in. No injury issues and did not feel the groin area at all.

Easy run on treadmill due to snow and ice outside. Also did the Hill sprints on the treadmill at 12%.

Felt fine, other than a slight stiffness in the legs from yesterday’s weights session.

Tuesday Feb 6 #

Treadmill (Easy) 40 [2] 5.0 mi (8 / mi)

Easy run on treadmill in gym following just over an hour of weights.

Felt fairly effortless and felt strong and smooth during the run.

Monday Feb 5 #

Treadmill (Easy) 50:15 [2] 6.01 mi (8:22 / mi)

Easy treadmill run with 8 strideouts after. Ran on the treadmill as was slightly concerned about my groin having been feeling it a bit during the day. No issues with it or anything else during the run though and generally felt quite good.

It was good to stretch out the legs during the strideouts following a few slower runs.
