Ran on road, beach and trails. Very windy today. Didn’t feel much better today and it didn’t really feel comfortable at any point so cut it a bit shorter than planned.

Running - trail (Parkrun) 24:00 [4] 3.1 mi (7:45 / mi) +30ft 7:40 / mi

Portrush parkrun (beach)

Tide was right in which meant running on soft sand and through water. Very tough going. That aside, I felt like shit and had nothing to give to push any harder. Not really sure why, I have also been feeling quite tired all week despite getting good sleep. Perhaps still a hangover from the fling.

Running - road (Easy) 22:17 [2] 2.53 mi (8:48 / mi) +59ft 8:37 / mi

Run down and back from parkrun

Decided to head down to the club handicap race. This was an 8 mile cross country race around a local park. The recent dry weather meant it was in good condition. Thought I would try and run it a bit harder and treat it as a tempo run, without going all out and racing hard. Found my legs quite heavy again but managed to hold quite a steady pace throughout. I don’t feel like I could have gone an awful lot faster though if I had wanted to push hard. Looking back at my time for the same race 2 years ago I was approx 2 and a half minutes quicker so definitely need to work on speed.

Running - Grass (Easy) 55:23 [3] 6.59 mi (8:24 / mi) +174ft 8:12 / mi
slept:7.0

Easy run around the playing fields after work. Legs felt a bit heavy at the start with quads and hamstrings a little tight after the last couple of days. Probably a carry over from saturdays parkrun and the faster pace. Another beautiful evening for a run, could get used to this!

Finished with 6 strideouts.
