First run on holiday. Didn’t run yesterday as we were travelling with a very early start and zero sleep! Ran around the lakeside path / trail out and back, turning at 5 miles. Felt good considering the heat and lack of sleep over the past day or two. Enjoyable run

Another very hot evening. Easy run down to ballyclare, around the pitches and noticed a trail that I hadn’t seen before at the back of the pitches so headed down there. Turned out to be an old disused railway line. Explored that for a bit then had to turn back as it got a bit overgrown. Headed back home along the road. Felt very tired for the last couple of miles and the heat didn’t help. Legs feeling a bit tight also after last nights race.

A very hot night for a race with the commentator stating that it was 31 degrees as we were about to set off. Felt good for the first 5 or 6 miles but at mile 7 I knew I was really starting to struggle and things went a bit pear shaped from there with a painfully slow run in to the finish. I was a bit mentally broken too given that I had been running quite well and the fact that it seemed to turn bad so quickly. Given the conditions I probably went out too fast as well. A few lessons learnt!

Easy run around the playing fields. Felt ok although a little tired. A very warm evening. Followed by 6 strideouts

Went down to the club as it was going to be about another month before I would get down again. The session was a chain run which is basically a very easy group run in a line with the person at the back sprinting to the front for about 4 miles. You can do your effort as hard or easy as you like so I did mine fairly easy with Thursdays race in mind. Felt fine.

Easy run around the playing fields with 6 strideouts. Felt like crap when I started running but that changed after a few minutes and it felt good the rest of the time with the temptation to go faster. Felt like I was flying on the last few strideouts!
