Running - road 3:29:45 [3] 27.1 mi (7:44 / mi) +1116ft 7:27 / mi
shoes: Hoka Bondi 6

Sought company for this one given the weather forecast (hence the road run - it’s difficult getting people onto the trails for some reason). In the end the weather turned out fine, quite good actually. Tried to make the route as hilly as possible but still nowhere near the desired amount of climbing. Enjoyable run nonetheless and felt comfortable for the most part. Was getting tired during the last couple of miles. In terms of fuelling i took a bladder filled with nearly 2 litres of water and 5 scoops of tailwind. I also took 7 huma gels. Energy levels were good and consistent throughout with no sickness. The Hoka Bondi were perfect for this run

Treadmill (Hill reps) 1:25:00 [4] 9.1 mi (9:20 / mi)
shoes: Nike Epic React - White

Treadmill hills reps with 20 mins easy either side. First 3 were ok (but tough) and were completed at approx 9 min mile pace. 4th one I had to press the stop button at half way before resuming a short time later. 5th one I had to do at a much slower pace. Tough session. Legs feeling a bit “blunt”.

Treadmill (Easy + steady) 1:28:00 [3] 11.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 36 (blue)

Back feeling much better today, can hardly feel anything at all so a dramatic improvement from yesterday. Perhaps a night back in my own bed helped or just doing the exercises. Bit strange really how it can be so sore yesterday and virtually completely better today. Anyway I opted for the treadmill after work this evening as I wanted to watch the football plus it was horrible outside - snowing and very windy. Did 20 mins easy then to break it up a bit I did 2 x 15 mins steady pace (6:40) with 10 mins easy in between. Then just stayed on for another 28 mins running easy until the football was finished. Felt generally good although my legs were feeling a bit tired during the second 15 min steady.

Running - road (Easy) 46:27 [3] 5.5 mi (8:27 / mi) +38ft 8:23 / mi
shoes: Hoka Bondi 6

Back still sore today so just did a short easy run along the seafront. Pain was a 7 out of 10 when I started running and whilst it eased a little, it was there throughout the run

Note
(rest day)

Woke up with a very sore back so wasn’t able to run. Exactly the same type of pain and location as last September. Felt it a little the last couple of days but must have don’t some to make it worse during the night. It was sorted last time by doing some exercise the physio gave me - have started doing these

Running - road (Easy) 52:54 [3] 6.27 mi (8:26 / mi) +148ft 8:15 / mi
shoes: Hoka Bondi 6

First mile or so felt horrendous, my body just didn’t want to run! After that it got better though. Took it nice and easy and was feeling comfortable during the second half
