British Night Champs - Muir of Dinnet.
M18 - 11th

Well that was interesting to say the least. It was probably the toughest run I've ever done. Arrived at start and body just felt weak from nerves. #1 took 11mins which is just silly so probably 5mins binned there as I didn't have a clue where I was. Followed the telegraph wire to #2 and came off too early. The next three were pretty solid and Gooch caught me up at #5. Spiked #6 which was a massive confidence boost. To #7 it was either left or right so being the retard I am I went left. To #8 I was expecting to hit a track which definitely wasn't there and then I was lost. Walked in a random direction and spiked it which was lucky. Fine for the next two and then messed up #11. Then fine into the finish and just made it under 2 hours. A massive reality check on my nav and fitness and that I've got a long way to go.

The main thing is water though. I'm sorry but how can you not have water at the finish????? There's no excuse really as the road was 20m away. Very odd.

Chris gave me a tour of the hill in Rawtenstall. Mainly a leg loosener for tomorrow. Felt fine apart from right Achilles a bit tight and nice to break into the new shoes even though they weren't the best choice.

HOC Winter evening event - Burlish Top

Managed to clear them all. Probably about 3-4mins wasted of mistakes and going over on the ankle towards the end. Last practice before British Nights and Achilles felt fine.

The foggiest control collecting ever.

Pushed on the hills and easy on the flat. Very muddy so should've worn anything but trainers. HR seems to have shot through the roof. Slightly boring and Achilles okay.

WML - Callow Hill
Brown - 6th (+13:59)

Shite. A combo of crap nav and tired legs. New HOC area which was nice towards the north but slightly grotty in some places. A lot of stopping too early as I didn't have an attackpoint and I was just very slow. Shite again.

Same feeling as the other day. Just felt tired so had to stop a few times. Also some very deadly critters out there aka roadmen so ran with my fists clenched, ready for action. Achilles decent.

WML - Hartshill Hayes
Brown - 3rd (+5:23) on Sam L

Like a long middle distance which was a nice change. About 5mins of mistakes all about 30s. Achilles felt fine but still a bit weak. Also super annoying to use emit.
