fast hiking (hiking (fell)) 5:26:10 [3] 14.69 km (22:12 / km) +1458m 14:50 / km
shoes: Walshs PB Racer

5hrs hiking.

Great to be in the hills! Tried to work hard on the climbs; run when possible and hard power hike the rest, jog along the flat sections up on the ridge, and took it super easy on the rough descents to baby the back and my leg.

A really hot and humid day made things feel hard work, but didn't feel too bad overall, and had sufficient energy to jog back to the car

1 PM

running (easy/strides (road)) 30:00 [3] 6.01 km (5:00 / km) +10m 4:57 / km
shoes: Saucony Liberty ISO

30' easy plus strides.

Feeling more and more like I'm getting back to actually running properly, and no hangover from the uphill session.
6 PM

running (easy (trail)) 30:00 [2] 6.37 km (4:43 / km) +58m 4:30 / km
shoes: Scott Supertrac RC

30' easy

Once again, feeling good and more and more back to normal when I am running.
7 PM

Pressups
Swiss Ball Hamstring Curls

running (moderate uphill (trail)) 1:00:02 [3] 10.63 km (5:39 / km) +447m 4:40 / km
shoes: Scott Supertrac RC

10' easy; 30' moderate uphill; easy back.

The closest to a harder session since I have been back, and though I was definitely feeling off the pace, no issues with leg or back, and didn't feel totally appalling in terms of the effort!

7 PM

running (diagonals (trail/grass)) 1:00:00 [3] 10.2 km (5:53 / km) +50m 5:44 / km
shoes: Scott Supertrac RC

60' easy with diagonals on the park.

Longest run back, felt okay, if a little tentative on the diagonals. Trying to be strict about not doing the stuff during the day that tweaks the leg, and it seems to be feeling better more consistently...

1 PM

running (easy/strides (road)) 30:00 [3] 5.4 km (5:33 / km) +20m 5:27 / km
shoes: Saucony Liberty ISO

30' easy plus strides. The best my leg has felt since coming back; the dodgy last couple of days seem to have not heralded a return of the sciatic nerve issues, and felt much looser in the right leg. Pleased!!
6 PM

running (easy) 35:00 [3] 5.2 km (6:44 / km) +15m 6:38 / km
shoes: Scott Supertrac RC

30' easy pre- S&C workout. As with earlier, felt really good!
7 PM

3 sets, till fatigue, took 40 mins.

Pressups
Swiss Ball Hamstring Curls
Mtn Climbers
Single Leg Glute Bridge
Runner Touch

6 PM

bike/turbo (wattbike) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Saucony Liberty ISO

1hr on the wattbike, moderate effort. After a couple of days of the leg feeling a bit dodgier again, it felt okay again, so hopefully that was a bit of a blip after too much sitting/driving... Otherwise, felt okay.

11 AM

fast hiking (hiking (trail/fell)) 5:00:00 [3]
shoes: Scott Supertrac RC

5hrs fast hiking in the Grey Corries. Felt good to be out for a long day; bit of fatigue in my right leg towards the end, but otherwise much the same as yesterday.
