Creag Dubh Hill Race

No idea what position I finished, and not especially bothered (Scot and Brit champs field so I was well down!), just delighted to be racing again! And to only be about a minute slower than last year was a real bonus.

Felt surprisingly good on the climb given I haven't pushed that hard for months; took it cautiously on the descent and felt no issues or niggles, and then absolutely died on my arse on the return lap round the park, but that was to be expected! Overall, delighted to be back and not feeling as unfit as I feared. Successfully played out a plan of ignoring all the guys I usually race, and just going as hard as my current fitness let me.

slept:8.0 shoes: Scott Kinabalu RC 2.0

90' easy

A much more successful start to the week after the botched weekend! Felt good, starting to feel stronger on the climbs and more confident on the descents again. Still really hot and humid too, so given that, felt pretty good overall.

Sunday Jul 28 #

6 PM

running (easy (trail)) 45:11 [3] 7.82 km (5:47 / km) +25m 5:41 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Scott Kinabalu RC 2.0

Working again today at short notice, and pretty wiped out from yesterday, so did 45' easy with Richard. Felt surprisingly good given how tired I was.

Apologies for going off- piste with the schedule without much notice but I hadn't expected to be working. On the plus side I have an interview in a couple of weeks for a much less demanding job!
