Big Weekend Classic - Arthur Seat (Green)

I would say main errors were: a terrible #8 (on the way from #7 I saw some trees I thought they were already my white on the map, but were just the light green before - so lost a bit there) and then the struggle with #10 (I thought I was left to the the "bog" but just went too much west and then things did not fit, meh). Took a nice route to the #11 I would say, through a path I never went which made things more interesting and then I died a bit on the uphill hah, (can't wait for Tuesday, wohooo....).

Quite happy overall, looking at splits and comparing with Saz I think I was not that bad...(but she was pre-running and checking some extra controls, so she would maybe have done better!). Also feeling confident with my choices and realising fast that I'm in the wrong place. Glad since it's been ages since I last orienteered, oops!

Plus, I've done way better than last year (half an hour better hah), which was the main goal, but I guess cause I've been running more in the seat this year, oh well!

Note
(rest day)

Woke up with sore throat and feeling quite bad and cold. Didn’t make it to a proper early start, so just walked and helped around till my shift started, sad to not run but I think for the best (also tarmac wouldn’t be the best for knees and I did want to run on Arthur Seat :)))

Big Weekend FWTN - Calton Hill (Short)
Being sensible with the knees (also because of tarmac factor) so just jogged around, which I think helped my navigation hah - in #7 I got confused with a first banister I did not expect (was not on map?) but happy with the rest of controls and knees felt good, yay!!!

Note

Being a bit stupid and now I have v sore knees. Missing again intervals tomorrow as I do not think knees will be 100% okay for that, so yeah, another week I miss training, meh. Anyway, better to rest now than to be even more stupid and run and just make it worse... Hopefully they will be okay for Big Weekend, but if not, no rush.
