Track/XC warm up/down 8:50 [2] 0.82 mi (10:46 / mi)
Track/XC race 25:03 [4] 5.0 km (5:01 / km) +44m 4:48 / km
XC Districts; Literally the exact same time I ran last week on this course and I'm so annoyed because I wanted to break 25 and I know I can physically do it. I bet I lost those 3 seconds just due to everyone on the course. There were ~600 people in the JV race and I got boxed in on this one hill and kept having to take turns wide to stay out of the crunch. I want to run it again, but since we didn't make states as a team, our season's now over.
On a brighter note, while I ran the EXACT SAME time, I felt better and ran more consistently, starting slower and finishing faster.
Track/XC warm up/down 5:16 [2] 0.38 mi (13:51 / mi)
Note
Well, the xc season is now officially over. It was a ton of fun and I got a lot faster, if not fast. I definitely built up some endurance and left the season in much better shape than I entered. Now, to learn how to apply it to orienteering... Anyway, below are all my times this season in the order of races (X's being those I missed or was ineligible for).
