Big Woods, Day 2, Route Gadget

Much better course for me, no big errors and faster, although I did struggle on the legs where you just had to go up and over the hill. I also finally understood/corrected my contouring/bearing issue and realized that when I'm side-hilling, if I have to go around something, I always go above it and then don't go back down and all of that cumulates. 4th on Green Y again, so yay for consistency?

Error Analysis:
1-2: I genuinely do not know how I lost 2 minutes here. My bearing was off and I went through more of the rocks, but honestly I think I was frankly just slow. This was where I finally figured out why my bearings were off though, and I pulled myself together mentally after this control

5-6: Rough bearing + exiting from the wrong angle = 20 ish seconds lost

6-7: Bearing going up the hill was off, hit out of bounds tape so knew where I was, and then readjusted from there, but was forced to go through more green

12-13: The plan was to go straight-ish, hit the road and run along it, but then the marsh was more extensive than I realized and I let myself get pushed around a bit by it, so it wasn't as direct a route as it could've been

Big Woods, Day 1, Route Gadget

Relatively okay course, I'm not particularly thrilled about it but it went decent. My main error was that I kept getting pulled off my line into the hill, so I kept on ended up higher than the control, sometimes much higher

Error Analysis:
2-3: Bearing was off and I ended up at the top of the hill, which wasn't the worst route choice if I had planned it, but as it was, I was too hesitant and unsure of where I was until I found the two pits

6-7: Couldn't decide between dropping down to the trail and contouring, so I chose contouring bc I was already doing it, but I'm not sure I made the best choice as the rocks were slow going. I hit the trail right in between the two ditches, so I knew where I was, and then half-contoured, half-took a bearing up

8-9: Bearing was fine, I just got really confused about 2/3's of the way up the hill. I hit a charcoal platform with lots of rootstocks which is obvious where I was now, but at the time I just got very confused and spent way too much time slowly continuing up the hill

9-10: Started to mentally check out getting near the finish to my own detriment. I exited wrong and continued in that direction, and only realized what I did when I hit the charcoal platform near the trail

10-11: No mistakes just wasted a few seconds faceplanting hard

Beautiful run, 60 degree shorts weather, saw some bats and the murmuration of starlings that lives near me, and the daffodils were blooming. Also, I didn't realize how flat my neighborhood is in comparison to Dartmouth
