S&C

As per the new plan. Started with the warm up routine too. Feeling ok started to feel that my technique has improved on all the excersises.

Treadmill 45:12 [3] 5.0 mi (9:02 / mi)
ahr:146 max:155

45’ easy 2%

Decide to do the treadmill session today as wanted to gain a little more confidence on running on a treadmill. The watch and treadmill don’t seem to correspond so not sure what to record so just recorded the data from my watch.

Both glute and hip flexor felt good today and less tight no real problems in the hip and certainly no pain. Got into a nice rythym but keep kicking the plastic covering at the head of the treadmill belt. Overall a nice session.

X-trainer 40:01 [3]
ahr:104 max:128

15’ easy - 10’ hard - 15’ easy

The legs felt good in the xtrainer today and kept the resistance fairly high for the hard 10’. Felt tough but good. Overall a good days training.

Running (trail/fell) 46:02 [3] 5.61 mi (8:12 / mi) +46m 8:00 / mi
ahr:135 max:143

45’ easy

Ran in the nature reserve at the beck of the zoo and hospital. Warmed up with some hip mobility excersises and warm up as per plan.

Set off and a bit tight in my glute but after about 20’ settled into the run and found a nice rythym the glute had eased off and as running really nice.

Turbo session 45:09 [3]
ahr:111 max:123

45’ bike

Onto the bike from the run and the first 20’ seemed to go slow alternated between sitting / standing. The last 25’ seemed to pick up and feeling ok not particularly fatigued. Stretched off post run.

Running (trail/fell) 35:01 [3] 4.21 mi (8:19 / mi)

35’ easy

Hip mobility and warm up Excersises.

Ran up and down the canal towpath.

Was feeling tired prior to running however once going felt good and energetic. Still a tad tight in the hip flexor but moving well. Probably just generally tight in the whole left hip. Legs felt fairly good and the pace felt easy.

6 AM

X-trainer 1:06:49 [3]

15 warm up- 5x5’ hard/2’ easy -15’ cool down
Alternating direction and increasing resistance.

Started with the hip mobility excersises.

The heart rate belt didn’t work today probably a dead battery. Kept the efforts at hard and feeling ok and fairly good in the legs not really tiered from yesterday’s session.

Quick stretch post session then off to work.

S&C

Stuck with the routine and did my daily excersises too. Still need to work on my one legged excersises but feeling ok.

Treadmill 35:13 [3] 4.1 mi (8:35 / mi)
ahr:144 max:157

35’ easy 2% incline

Warm up and hip mobility excersises same as yesterday.

Set off with heavy quads probably a result of this mornings S&C session. Otherwise felt good and relaxed in tonight’s run. Stuck to the treadmill tonight just for ease.

Turbo session 45:21 [3]
ahr:117 max:135

45’ moderate effort

Mixed it up between standing and sitting. Time seemed to go fairly quickly and not too fatigued from the run.

Running (trail/fell) 26:09 [3] 3.14 mi (8:20 / mi)
ahr:134 max:147

25’ easy

Started with hip mobility and warm up. Ran laps of Stanley park on the grass. Feeling ok in the legs although a little heavy in my quads. The tightness in my hip flexors greatly reduced off and feeling a lot more mobile in my hips.

X-trainer 1:05:06 [3]
ahr:114 max:142

15’ easy - 7x (3’ hard/ 2’ easy) alternating direction - 15’ easy

Straight into the session from the run so was feeling relatively warm from the outset. Legs felt ok took the first 2 hard intervals to get onto it by the 7th the interval felt tough. Overall a good session.

Monday Apr 29, 2019 #

Running (trail/fell) 25:25 [3] 3.12 mi (8:09 / mi)
ahr:143 max:152

25’ easy

Warm up and hip mobility excersises same as yesterday.

Set off on good legs and the hip flexor was less tight than the day before. Never felt the glute on the run either. Couldn’t seem to get into a rythym as all my thoughts are just concentrating on the hip. But so far so good.

Daily strength excersises feel good and no problems.

Turbo session 2:05:02 [3]
ahr:107 max:138

2hrs ride

The weather was pretty good today so didn’t want to miss an opportunity to get some extra vitamin D. Set off and rolling out to a good rythym and pace. Bit of a headwind out but nothing significant. Last 5’ got a flat but had no spare inner tube as I’d used it last week managed to coast the bike home and had to stand and put my weight on the front wheel. Taught me a lesson to take a spare. Overall a good day.

Sunday Apr 28, 2019 #

Running (trail/fell) 15:06 [3] 1.87 mi (8:05 / mi)
ahr:144 max:152

15’ easy

Started with the same warm up as yesterday’s run including the hip mobility excersises. Worked hard over the past 24hrs to release the hip flexors off.

Started the run and it felt good still a bit tight in the hip flexors but much less than yesterday and no glute pain too. Overall a nice run.

X-trainer 45:49 [3]
ahr:101 max:111

45’

Time seemed to go quickly on the xt today and felt good overall the legs felt pretty fresh.

Turbo session 45:04 [3]
ahr:108 max:118

45’

Whilst the xt had gone quick the bike session seemed to drag but just kept with it. The legs still felt fresh and moving well no problems with the glute. Overall a good session.

Strength tx 1:00:00 [3]

S and C

Stuck with the routine I’ve bedn given. Matt morehouse was working in the gym so gave me some instruction on perfecting the power clean. In the end much better technique.
