Saturday Jan 19

Orienteering race (WIOL) 43:17 [4] *** 4.1 km (10:33 / km)
shoes: Vasque Velocity 7627 (2)
Priest Pt Park- started out without a warm-up (arrived 5 min before start time). The course was basically all on trails, and I got so bored I ran down into the tide flats (which was really stupid, but a heck of a lot more interesting).
Overall, not my best race...

Thursday Jan 17

Trail Running (Wildwood) 21:38 [4] 4.5 km (4:48 / km)
shoes: Vasque Velocity 7627 (2)
The same logging trail as yesterday, plus a little extra. I had to cut the run short, though- my plantars are hurting. I'll change the soles out tonight; we'll see if that helps.

Wednesday Jan 16

Orienteering (Wildwood) 25:00 [2] ** 2 km (12:30 / km)
shoes: Vasque Velocity 7627 (2)
Following the younglings around on a little course Rick set up for Wednesday-O.
Trail Running (Wildwood) 28:00 [3] 4 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: Vasque Velocity 7627 (2)
I thought the younglings needed a real workout (and I certainly did) so I led them out through one of the logging roads for a jog. They kept up better than I was expecting, which was good, but we still had to wait up occasionally. It grew very dark rather quickly.

Tuesday Jan 15

Trail Running intervals (Wildwood) 30:30 [4] 6.4 km (4:46 / km)
shoes: Vasque Velocity 7627 (2)
Intervals: fast around the swamp loop, jog the rest. 8 laps.

There was 0-1.5 inches of snow on the ground (depending on proximity to trees), which made traction a little tricky, especially on the hills. I watched the sun set hot pink over the trees as I ran, and then it was dark. I kept running into low-hanging trees and branches and dropping snow on my head.

Monday Jan 14

Trail Running 13:35 [1] 2.4 km (5:40 / km)
shoes: Vasque Velocity 7627 (2)
It's snowing- the first real snow this year. Mostly it was cold and wet, but it was also kind of fun. Additionally, it was soon dark, so I had to come in after only a short run.

Sunday Jan 13

Capture the Flag intervals 2:00:00 [4] 16 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Vasque Velocity 7627 (2)
Ryan and Holly's birthday party! Our house. Lots of fun.
