JIRCS Relay - 3rd :)

Wasn't expecting to be going out first but after some amazing runs from Ben and Jake went out with ~2 min lead. Didn't realise this at the time and thought Jim would be pretty close. Took safe routes throughout sticking to the paths as much as possible. Was clean until the spectator and had ~60s lead on Jim. Mucked up 16 even though I was stood ~10m away. Jim caught me there then we both messed up 18 by ~2 mins. Dan caught us both here and by 21 we were all together. Was just trying to hold on at this point and nav got disregarded. Jim lead us to 24 before 23 and I rushed out of it thinking it was 23. Coming out things didn't match up and faffed around trying to work it out. Eventually realised but Jim and Dan were long gone. Nervous last controls not knowing where 4th was but nice to run in for 3rd and even nicer to see that I hadn't mp.

Without a 3rd it'd have been a pretty disappointing race but happy with how I coped with the pressure of going off 1st just annoying I couldn't hold on.

JIRCS Individual - 10th

Pretty grim conditions starting in and was tough running making it not much fun. Clean but hesitant through the first through then didn't fully trust the compass to 3 so faffed around a bit (~60s) even though I knew I was to the right. Good through 4,5,6 then slightly hesitant to 8(~45s). Faffed a bit around 9 by not having a good enough picture. Was then half way to 11 before I realized I couldn't actually see any of the next control. Was wandering around a bit before Adam helped me out a bit and then managed to find 11. After that was surprisingly clean by just running in the general direction and looking for the feature. Was quite hesitant from there making sure I didn't get completely lost.

A bit of an average result really. Was 9th at 10 so didn't actually lose that mch placings wise. Wasn't moving too quickly and nav wasn't perfect but a decent result considering the circumstances

Cycling 34:45 [4]

5 *90s + 5 *60s (30) on Wattbike

After a very short induction hopped on the Wattbike and did essentially the session I'd have done if calves were a bit better. Hard work but pretty good fun

Running 13:12 [2] 2.3 km (5:44 / km)
shoes: Asics Patriot 10

Easy treadmill jog afterwards. Messed around with speed and elevation a bit but calves pretty happy

Hadn't planned to run today but was running a bit late so thought I mareswell. Quite tight on the way there but actually pretty decent on the way back. Bit sore afterwards but doesn't seem to be any worse which is a positive. Got a gym induction tommorow aswell so hopefully will be able to do a bit of a spin session tommorow

Swimming 30:00 [2]

Standard swim.

Calves quite sore and tight today, mostly the lower parts but not great overall. Will take this week really easy and hope they're decent for jircs and then sort them out for the winter. Looking back on it they haven't been quite right for 2/3 months now
