Allerdale schools XC -
Haven’t done an XC race in a while so I was interested to see where I was at. Just took into at a tempo pace trying not to over do it and there’s pretty much zero fast XC runners around Allerdale so managed to cruise into second. Hit a 3:28 first km just sitting behind the leader but just started to die from there onwards with the lungs feeling crap and the legs lacking any speed at all.

Didnt feel like intervals would be a good idea as my first proper run after a week off with illness so went for a lovely recovery round Sale Fell and Ling Fell with Jamie and Kasper. Just tried to keep running on the uphills and enjoy the cracking downhills. The legs felt golden but my lungs definitely still recovering from the cold.

This the last squad training for all the top year 18s in NWJS so we did some fun exercises running around some quality terrain near Ambleside which all the 18s had organised. Feeling better today but my lungs are still a bit wrecked

Squad Bash - Great Tower
Map memory exercises with Harry O’Donovan. Lungs really painful and legs aching despite the easy effort so I cut it to two exercises. Nav was good though only needing one look at the map at most times with only one or two 15s misses and the area was quality

Feeling better today but took kasper for a walk and legs were aching badly so took another rest day. Annoyed I had to take four days off but at least I’ll be rested for squad bash.
