Right from the start had big issues reading and comprehending the map - ~ 2 min on a first leg lost, very tentative thru 2 and 3, did not have killer instinct today, then another huge boom on 4 - stopped well short of it and could not relocate for 3-4 minutes, then I had to attack # 9 two times, not being able to comprehend what is mapped in the circle, second time around I walked into the circle and still did not nail it but got close enough to spot the bag, lost 6 min on 7, stopped one reentrant too short, not able to interpret the map. Kept telling myself not to quit but it was not my day: after making another 2 min error on 17 I skipped 18 and that led to DNF.

after hot spings pool, drove to Cottonwood Pass, and went to close by hilltop for some views and pictures with Z-man and Kseniya.

US Champs M21+ - Blue - Day1 - felt good for first 50 min, moving well, lost 1 min in the circle on 7 - just did not see the feature, but did not get discouraged by that, was very careful thru the rocks, got tired - made a 1 min error on 16 - not the best rout too, on that leg. Mikell was 67+ min, very good time. Total ~ 3 min of errors and hesitations
