Running 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

A recovery run that didn't help me recover at all, I was screwed! Ran with Matt from the Golden Acre park, to a pond, across some fields with a million bleating lambs (they were pretty cute), more paths, past some scary cows and back to the car. So tired. It was raining as well.

Orienteering race 1:20:19 [5] *** 10.9 km (7:22 / km) +405m 6:13 / km
23c shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

British Long Champs, Mallards Pike and New Beechenhurst (Forest of Dean).
3rd place, 2:40mins behind Pippa and 1min behind Sarah. This was quite a good classic result for me so I was pleased.
Although, like many people say about their races, it could have been better. The early section was really good, just dropping 35secs on the way to c2 (wee stop).
But I made some little mistakes in the middle of the course. c8 to c9 was apparently a taped run-through but stupidly I managed to run parallel to the small path in some green and lost 40secs. What was I doing?! And the other main one was c12 - I got to the ditch and wasn't dead sure to go left but I thought that maybe I should, and while thinking long and hard about it a minute ticked by. I settled down a little bit after that and finished quite strongly.
Pleased with my long legs as normally I'm just happy to complete them but today I was 'attacking them'.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]

Had to run more than jog to the start as it was 2.4km away and I was running late.

Orienteering race 28:30 [5] *** 3.9 km (7:18 / km) +120m 6:20 / km
16c shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Open Middle race (and JWOC selections course), Mallards Pike.
Nice runnable area, and I orienteered quite well for most of the race. Just two long hesitations at c8 and c9 (30secs or so at each). Time must go quicker than I think when I'm standing still.
2nd, 10secs behind Sarah.

About 95% on paths - figure of 8 to shadwell and lap of Waterloo lake. Threatening to rain, but, it didn't :)

Orienteering 33:50 [4]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack - old

Bramley Woods Sprint event.
Well it wasn't a sprint, it was a 35min scrub-bashing session on a bad map. Didn't have fun.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2]

With Matt, warming up, and cooling off.

weight:54.1kg (rest day)

It was pretty wet outside, so, didn't fancy it. No biggie - I like resting.
