Running 34:00 [3] 6.74 km (5:03 / km)

From Pine Island North, headed south on some trails just under Mt Stranger, then cut through a dog park place down to the river, so avoided some cyclepath and Point Hut Crossing. Then ran back beside the Murrumbidgee to meet Matt and Florence who were swimming in the river.

Running 48:30 [3] 7.0 km (6:56 / km)

I wasn't going to run today but then I decided to, even after starting on the evening's beer and cheese. In the morning we had bushwalked over the ridge behind Wee Jasper, a one-way from Fitzpatrick Trailhead on the Hume Hovell Track. For this evening's run I sort of ran it in reverse by heading out along the road for 2km, up the steep single track to the ridgetop but then instead of dropping off the other side, I continued along a firetrail on the ridgetop which descended steeply after a while and came out (in a private paddock) almost opposite where we were staying. It was a cracking run and nice evening, although the incredibly humid weather meant I sweated bucket loads!

Running 1:02:00 [3] 11.2 km (5:32 / km)

Today we all set off for a morning at Micalong Swamp. Craig thought we were going the wrong way but no, Matt knew the shortest way. We travelled on some terribly windy, steep and hole-riddled roads but did eventually come out at the right spot nearly an hour and a half later. We went home Craig's way which took us a bit over half an hour on beautifully smooth roads :/

At Micalong Swamp, I ran up along side it on the Hume Hovell Track, getting to the end of the swamp and then running a little further up the next hill on a nice grassy bush track. I then turned around and ran back, hoping the picnicers and all the little people would have walked a decent way meaning I wouldn't have to run too far back to meet them, but they hadn't got that far and so I had to run a bit further than I had the energy for. At least it was downhill. Was a nice morning out :)

The afternoon was spent at Billy Grace day use area (river swimming spot) and Florence tried out her new floaties and loved them. She is such a water baby!

Running 37:00 [3] 4.5 km (8:13 / km)

In the afternoon we drove out of Canberra to Wee Jasper. We were to stay at Wee Jasper Homestead for three nights with Jasmine's family plus my parents. Matt and I arrived first and went running; I went first while Matt played in the stream with Florence. I ran from Fitzpatrick Trailhead along the Hume Hovell Walking Track; well that was the plan but I missed an early turn-off and waded through thistles up to some caves for the first 10mins or so. Eventually I returned and found the right track. A bit overgrown but good when on firetrail. After a while I turned onto the main Hume Hovell Track and headed down to a river, then turned around and ran back.

Running 1:12:00 [3] 11.9 km (6:03 / km)

From home, around the southern side of Mt Taylor and across to Mt Arawang. Up and over that then back to Taylor Reserve and around the northern side. Wasn't loving it. This was after a day out at Tidbinbilla and a visit to the Deep Space tracking station.
