Sunday Feb 26 #

Note

Florence and Daisy went swimming in the seawater pool with Matt first up while Isabelle and I bought a sun hat. It was already 11am by the time we got to Pretty Beach and we stayed there for a few hours. It was as perfect as it always it, and we built heaps of sand castles while Matt ran over Durras Mt. We stopped briefly at the Botanic Gardens south of Batemans Bay in the arvo but it closed at 4pm so we headed home then after a stop for ice creams in the Bay (I actually don't love ice cream but it's all about sharing in the moment with the kids, right?). When we got home there was a lot to unpack and people to wash, and I had an orienteering zoom meeting of all things so didn't get a chance to run.

1 PM

Running 57:00 [3] 9.41 km (6:03 / km)

We stayed at the caravan park on Warden Head Point which was nice. The morning was spent at the beach on the south side of the point. The kids had fun on the sand but the waves were dumping a bit.
At 1pm I got a chance to run while the others were at the jumping pillows and the pool. It was quite hot. I ran on some paths around Warden Head Reserve, then around the foreshore of Ulladulla, discovering a 50m seawater pool, then through a Rotary park and a Geological Time Walk, then a loop in North Head Reserve where I found some glossy black cockatoos. Then I retraced my steps to the caravan park. Running for 57min but out for 90, totally my kind of run.
Later in the afternoon we checked out Mollymook's playground and ice creamery, then went and walked the North Head loop and found five of the special cockatoos this time.

Note
(rest day)

Got picked up from work and headed straight to the coast and north to Ulladulla after F&Cs in Batemans Bay.

Thursday Feb 23 #

6 PM

Running 44:00 [3] 7.71 km (5:42 / km)

F-I-W-F which is my new standard loop, 50% longer than my old standard loop of just Farrer Ridge, as I'm trying to squeeze a little bit more out of my weekly training.

Orienteering race 36:18 [4] *** 5.53 km (6:34 / km)
11c

Fun course on Mugga Mugga. Enjoyed it and was pretty clean. Tried the two-strips-of-strapping-tape-down-each-shin approach today (instead of long socks) and it worked pretty well, although the buzzies weren't actually too bad on this occasion.
