Event: Salomon Snowshoe Raid 3 hour Adventure Run

adv race 14:00 [4] * 2 km (7:00 / km) +80m 5:50 / km
snowshoe raid. up to first control
adv race race 2:49:00 [2] 16 km (10:34 / km) +450m 9:16 / km
from first to finish. ran with Christine W.for a co-ed categ, therefore i had to keep myself in pace. we end up winning the categ , but not by much- as i forget to keep an eye on my watch after 2.2 h- end up 3 minutes late ( minus 30 points). a win is a win regardless. good weather, fun , not so fun (at least for me at the awards )."pick and choose" (is probably the 3rd time when this happens to me. the overall winners had a fast time. good guys....however snowshoe raid is more of an "outdoor endurance race" , only thing related to orienteering is that one has to punch controls and carry a map. i did not pull out my compass from the pocket, neither i had to take decisions while on the course. probably some others did not need it either(the compass ). looking more for the april event.
but since i like winter i will not complain anymore.

Note
still coughing every now and then, not bad . i think i should have the "un-sick" status now. last couple of days beside work I prepared everything for the ski-O (these non-exercise days helped my body to recover a bit), and this morning..oh well.. freezing rain and after several phone calls I decided it was best to try and re-schedule this event. hopefully Shade's will get more snow and make it possible.
