last event at GLOF. glad is over as was a bit too much for my body that i managed to fit at high level this weekend. too bad that another great O-event (multi day) in Ontario will be quite far away.

O-cross today. Nice to have a relay type of event, head to head. Started out well, and pleasantly surprised to see at 4th( first common control ) Michael Lucente ahead ( turned out he was leading by half a minute at that time ). come out good after first loop, booble a bit first control on second than later find myself in second spot - just behind Jon T. a 15" brain "break" cost me over a minute ( run thru some green, sloppy and mad just because i have that brain break).start moving hard again on last loop ( made some time on leaders ), but then decided that since the event is a at the end must well take another double steep valley- just for training !! ). Had a problem with punching second last control- turned back since i did not noticed it beeped/flashed lost 4-5 sec , missed ( strategically ) last control by 7-8 sec , and end up in 5th ( the worst placement this weekend for me ). turned out that I randomly won a pair of socks. Without that punch booble or the strategically miss at last control i would placed out of the prizes.. so..happy at the end. for a cool down went to check one particular location from sprint map. men ! I should stop map checking while racing- just compete. turned out (IMHO) that i was right .

started quite well- pace wise- but going to the right at first control I was about 2 min slower then Magnus. Before 1 I already questioned if was the fastest route.a bit hesitant to 2 and somehow in the middle of 3rd leg, and I am already 3 minutes slower then I should.Satisfied with my pace /routes till 9, where right before the control with 3-4 m I felt quite bad getting stocked with my left foot behind a rootstock (in a ravine) while the rest of my body is on the other side of that root upside down.got up, removed leg from there and felt lots of pain , jogged slower to 10, contemplated about quitting the race after first map, but I would just not feel right, so ignored the pain ( won next split ) moved quite fast from here on ( but lost 45 sec at 14 ). Got mad and won 3 consecutive splits and moved decently well all the way to the end.End up 3rd - and learned some lessons.. but i enjoyed so much to just run and orienteer- that i forget about pushing a bit harder.Right hamstring quite sore. Left hip sore and adding now a sore thigh.Hopefully all pain will go away. not magically , but with a bit of patience.

quite nice to run a forest sprint but with some real orienteering.very minor issues with the map- for me ( one control cost me over 20 sec). about 35 sec behind a fast Eric Kemp..able to go quite hard but not max, hamstring a bit sore.overall satisfied

good course again ( well - I kind of expected this from GHO gang- and they delivered ).. sloppy at 5th control, but quite happy with the race overall. hamstring feels sore and tired. hope to be able to keep up tomorrow. end up 3rd, but i need to be more aggressive if I am not satisfied.oops-- I have 2 parts of my body, that actually tell me " don't worry, be happy !" . so I am !

had do drive over 400km today, and still work 9h..one (including me) should not complain !
