Lomonds of Fife hill race
Legs were feeling not brilliant warming up - unsurprisingly when this was my biggest week ever before even running today. Bit of a mishap early on when about 10 of us ran quite a long way the wrong direction and added a decent distance. Felt quite good most of the way but the descents were really steep and I wasn’t good enough to go very fast. Good fun and didn’t feel as long as I thought it would cause I’ve never really race over this time/distance. Nice day out.

Alta Via 1 from Lago di Braies to Pocol.
Bit of an epic but such an awesome day in the mountains. The middle stretch was pretty busy and on good paths but the first and last bits there was hardly anyone and the tracks were much smaller and rockier. Pegs weren’t the optimum shoe choice, especially on the techy descents, but to be fair my feet were super comfy the whole way and not even a hint of a blister. I haven’t really done much running with a rucksack before and I was carrying all my stuff for the holiday (about 5kg with full water) but actually it was fine. The views were actually insane and the weather was perfect. Felt really good the whole way cause I took quite a few breaks and ate a decent amount of food (200g chocolate, a roll, a jumbo salty pretzel, big bag of crisps). I was supposed to finish at 32km at a bit under 5 hours but the bus was gonna be an hour and a bit so decided just to run the downhill 10km to my hotel. Class day out.

Ace run from Tre Cime in the Dolomites. Lots of cool rocks to look at. Felt easy on the legs but HR was up - altitude? (Low point of run was 2200m having travelled from sea level that day)
