Fam day out to the Cowal peninsula. After almost missing the ferry, cause we went to the train station instead of the ferry terminal, we made it to Dunoon. The first section included some of the most brute climbs I’ve ever done and then we stopped for lunch. After that it was an easy spin along Loch Fyne and then Pete and I pushed on a bit on the way back along Loch Eck.

Beinn Guilbhinn
A bit tougher and longer than anticipated as we didn’t really know where we were going so spent quite a bit of time in the forest. It was lovely nonetheless and another new run for me to round off a wee escape up north.

An Teallach
This was definitely one of the best runs I've ever done. You could see the ridge from miles away in the car so I was already excited before we set off. Took the lower, boggier path (by accident) up to the ridge and then it was all rock. The climbs up the two munros (Bidein a'Ghlas Thuill and Sgurr Fiona) were steep but straightforward. After that we were on to the pinnacles which were so much fun and a lot less scary than they looked from a distance. Definitely a scramble rather than any serious climbing and the views were class. The descent off Sail Liath was rockier and slower than expected and then it was just easy running back to the road and then along to the parking.

3 Newtonmore Munros
Glorious day out and the runnability was much better than I had feared it might be. It was really good route for spending lots of time up high as after the first climb you didn’t have to drop much at all.

2km easy, 10km steady (4:07s), 3km easy
Didn’t fancy a proper session after Sunday and Pete was keen for a steady too. Kept the first 5km super chill at 4:13s with a tailwind. Then turned around and started to crank it up a bit. Averaged 4:04s for the next 4km and then closed with a 3:49. So 4:07s overall for the 10km. Felt really good and no real fatigue in the legs from Sunday.
