Sunday Jan 31 #

10 AM

Mountain bike 2:27:23 [1] 19.25 mi (7.8 mph) +583m
ahr:136 max:188

With dad over a muddy chase. Lost a lot of skill, but can still wheelie pretty well so that’s good. Bike fitness was good too.
4 PM

walk 1:42:54 [0] 4.48 mi (22:58 / mi) +51m 22:11 / mi
ahr:96 max:115

With Fly to finish off the rest week.

Saturday Jan 30 #

9 AM

muscular endurance 45:55 [2]
ahr:107 max:151 shoes: On cloudflow

Warm up: 10minutes of drills/plyometrics.
Added some weight today. Felt much better today than yesterday. Should hopefully be back to normal by Monday. Legs are getting used to the ME work too now.

Strength and conditioning 20:50 [1]
ahr:105 max:143 shoes: On cloudflow

Arms and lower leg.
4 PM

walk 44:43 [0] 1.92 mi (23:17 / mi) +44m 21:44 / mi
ahr:86 max:102

A walk with Fly for a change. Was nice, but cold and very windy so had to come back earlier than I planned.

Friday Jan 29 #

10 AM

Running warm up/down 20:20 [1] * 2.91 mi (6:59 / mi) +12m 6:54 / mi
ahr:147 max:167

Running warm up/down 23:50 [1] * 3.01 mi (7:55 / mi) +33m 7:39 / mi
ahr:145 max:159

Running tempo 16:33 [3] * 3.11 mi (5:19 / mi) +7m 5:17 / mi

Wasn’t feeling that at all. Legs had no power or speed, and it just wasn’t feeling nice. Had to keep stopping and starting. Wanted to go <16:00 so a bit disappointed, but I guess it’s just one of those bad days and the wind was quite bad too. Going to stay positive though because I can’t do anything about it right now and just going to learn from it. I know now that I still need to work on cadence and I’m going to take the fartlek out and replace it with a short threshold run to start to higher my lactate threshold before spring.

Thursday Jan 28 #

9 AM

Running 47:12 [1] ** 6.13 mi (7:42 / mi) +134m 7:13 / mi
ahr:153 max:172 shoes: Adidas Solar.

Down Shugborough drive and up over Satnall. A bit slippery coming off the top which slowed speed a lot. Legs felt tight and HR still high.
Went on the motorbike with Dylan after which was a good break from school work and training.

Wednesday Jan 27 #

1 PM

Running 56:50 [2] ** 8.4 mi (6:46 / mi) +176m 6:21 / mi
ahr:160 max:174 shoes: Adidas Solar.

‘Easy’ up Sherbrooke and then over the top to Glacial. Back home along Cannock road. Heart rate was high and legs had a lot of tension. I’m going to blame the stress of school at the moment. Would love to know what to do from now until ‘exams?’ Was planning on doing a 5k TT on Friday, but might leave it and focus on recovery until starting February training. Will see how I feel tomorrow.

Tuesday Jan 26 #

8 AM

Strength and conditioning 25:06 [1] **
ahr:116 max:171

Little morning session on core and legs.
3 PM

walk 1:15:26 [1] 6.58 mi (11:28 / mi) +198m 10:29 / mi
ahr:124 max:167 (rest day) shoes: VJ BOLD

Wasn’t feeling it today. Conditions were rough because of the melted snow. Started as a run, but walked most of the way from Sherbrooke. Felt better once I was home, so guess it worked as some active recovery.

Monday Jan 25 #

12 PM

Running 1:47:05 [1] *** 10.64 mi (10:04 / mi) +432m 8:56 / mi
ahr:152 max:189 shoes: VJ BOLD

Amazing snow on the chase today. Decided to take the gopro and got some cool photos and some nice videos. Probably 75% on path and 25% off. Felt good, but I wasn’t taking it very seriously because of it being the start of a rest week.
