Rodney's Pillar fell race//5th.
New course was better than the old one with a very technical descent. Started off with Dan and Jack for a fast start, but dropped off about 3/4 the way up the first climb then got over taken by Matt Yapp to drop down to 4th. Amazing view at the top with a clear sky and a mystic blanket of clouds over the border hills. Descent was so good, but Andy was just better at doing that style of descent- he was going really fast. Should have really overtook him on the last descent and don't fully know why I held back. I did enjoy the race, but didn't feel like I was actually racing; it barley fel like a tempo. It was either because of doing too much prior, but I think more likely it was just mental laziness. Ultimately, I really didn't like the feeling of finishing in that poor of a position in this race, Sunday's orienteering and the Batch Bash, so that should give me the determination to gain some redemption in the future races. Do not want to finish in a position that low again.
Running warm up/down 1:00:00 [1] 4.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
Walk up the main track+warm up, warm down with the fast runners down the road. Andy swam in a dirty puddle in the road.
