Roaches fell race 11th. Great race and really enjoyed the route, but legs were DEAD from yesterday. Bit annoying because I probably would've won with fresh legs. Anyway, it was a good lesson to learn that I can't race well twice in a weekend and if I am racing twice to drop out of the first race early if it doesn't feel right, to have more for the day after. Also think I caught something on the train home from Sheffield last week because felt a bit ill. Enjoyed it and will definitely race it again. Had dinner at Fox House with Dad before he dropped me off. Imagine I will be back after some long run in winter.

Birmingham XC Crewe. Not my race today. Fast start, which was a bit overly aggressive, legs said no at the top of the first climb, pretty much downhill in performance from there. Guess it is my first XC, just a bit disappointing. Barely a jog. Hopefully tomorrow goes better.

Shake out before the weekend, with 15s strides every 5 minutes. Ran in the Scotts to get used to them before Sunday. Will the mudclaws be enough for tomorrow or will I regret being too tight to buy new spikes? Felt pretty good, so will be a good weekend of racing if all goes well and I can recover well over Saturday afternoon and night. More of a experiment to see how well I can manage a two B race weekend.

Ride before Grandmas for tea. Council have felled some perfectly healthy birch trees to block off Secret Run, which seems a bit extreme. Other than that it was good ride, shame I didn’t have more time, but had a busy day with uni work.

4x800, 4x400(1minute recoveries) on castlefields with C&S, ran it as strides with Jagon. Felt good for the weekend. Slipped out on motorbike last night on a corner, managed to save it from fully going, but pulled calf abit. Felt it today, but hopefully it will be ok. Felt pretty cool at the time, would have looked sick on video.
