Note

A nice week of easy running. My highest mileage week ever. Legs feeling fine but that definitely wouldn't be the case if I had done anything harder or faster.
Going for a lot less next week but maybe do some intervals? Maybe.

Running 1:56:01 [2] 24.13 km (4:49 / km) +271m 4:33 / km

Went and tried out a new C loop. Canal, Corstorphine, Cammond, Coast and Cycleways. Was a really nice loop. Not sure i've ever been down the section at Almond. Saw a guy flying his parrot from his balcony on one of the very nice houses on the way out. Felt pretty easy apart from the section along the coast into the headwind. Saw a fox on the way back too. Very nice.

What a lovely afternoon so headed to the Pentlands in the nice weather with Tim to catch the sunset. Some nice colours in the way out but as soon as we got up we got hit by a snowstorm. It cleared in the direction we were going as we went up Allermuir. Very nice running and views. Managed to make it back to the streetlights before darkness and ankles just survived the icy lumpy descent.

Fancied a bit of a different loop but today was not the day for it. Lots of mud and rivers. Started off hating it but ended up quite enjoying stomping through the wet mud in the dark. Added a little loop in at Craigmillar and round the Hermitage for a little extra distance as didn't run this morning. Very enjoyable in the end.

A socially distanced seat lap, than a second lap with Stanwix whilst the speedy boys did their thing. Second day with no dobs and no morning run today so legs feeling nice.

Canal, Calton, Castle loop with Tim. Some cool atmosphere running through thick fog in the city. The Balmoral Clock looking really nice from Princess St and the side of Calton. It turned 8 as we went up the mile so cool to hear all the clocks clocking.
6 PM

Running 42:07 [2] 8.87 km (4:45 / km) +142m 4:24 / km
ahr:156 max:178 shoes: 1

Seat lap with Mikey. Managed to get around in the dry. No dobs today so calves have loosened off nicely.

Note

Need to do some calf stretching and a ban from running in dobs for at least a day. Done a little to much time in them recently.
6 AM

Running 1:38:50 [3] 17.23 km (5:44 / km) +490m 5:01 / km
ahr:156 max:179 shoes: Bolds

2 in bolds, 1 bold not 2 bolds.
Morning Pentlands with Tim and Sasha. Did reverse loop to run facing the nice sunrise. Tim absolutely flying on the descent. Put some serious effort in on the way back keeping up with the other two getting back for 9am business.

Some sunrise seat with Tim. Nice sunrise skies making the snowy pentlands look even better than usual. A random MFD requested by Tim but actually managed to jog up it without stopping to walk for I think the first time ever.
5 PM

Running 1:01:36 [2] 12.21 km (5:03 / km) +84m 4:53 / km
ahr:151 max:170 shoes: 1

On a mission with Mikey to find some veggie haggis.
Down the canal to big Asda and loop between Craiglockharts on the way back. Nipped through hermitage and had some people messing with lasers lighting us up as we cut through the field round Blackford.
