First time orienteering around Corstorphine. What a great area, especially with the paths removed for extra trickiness. Running slowly today even whilst putting effort in. Lots of small mistakes and a good bumble around in some green at #23. All good fun though.

Somewhat recovered went for some Hermi wiggles. Think this is my new favourite small loop. Heard a wild Mikey calling from across the river.

A rather quick warm up. Running a tad late after eating many many hot cross buns. No regrets.

Wft is a map again? Sprint O round a new area for me, exciting stuff. Of course I had to make a mistake to #1 but after that was mostly ok just some dubious route choice. Great weather and great fun.

Second sprint O again a new area. Started with a minute head start on Pete. Paused for an angry dog to #2, picked good route to #3, messed it up and was caught by #4. Running hard but dropped quickly. Very much enjoyed and great courses by Graeme.

Joined Ali and Sasha for part of their run into the Pentlands. A really sunny, still and light frosty morning. Saw some nice cows on the way to Allermuir and met a top bloke by the name of Hartree?. Posted a nice picture of one cow in a pentlands group and got absolutely Karened.

Some sunny Craigmillar with Mikey, Matt and Stanwix. Very enjoyable, but tired legs fading up dalkieth.

A quick and speedy warm up trying to stay warm and clear out the chest. A bit a of drizzle and some cooler weather not so appreciated on the warm up but quite useful to stay cool when running hard.

5Km effort and got a new PB of 17:07. Very pleased with that. Wasn't expecting anywhere near that fast but Ali and Dan said yesterday I should aim higher than 17:45 (my original target) so started off hard expecting to fade rapidly. Quite hard to judge pacing with half the loop in tailwind and half in headwind so was pleasantly surprised to look at the watch with 170m to go and see a good pace (I guess running a loop evens it out quite well).

Back past the flat to grab some layers, an apple and a quick stretch. Then on for a wiggly hermi cool down. Very chuffed to be making some progress with speed at the cost of only 1 intervals per week.
