LR Easy 2:11:40 [3] 16.03 mi (8:13 / mi) +355m 7:41 / mi
ahr:147 max:185

Was still in two minds about doing the race but thought that at best I would probably manage at best between steady to HMP. So no much point taking up most of a day in what would have been basically a harder training run. Run up to HH/CW, ran one loop of kingshill and felt ok-ish so at the 8 mile point on the run tried to up the pace for the second lap, immediately started to struggle with coughing so dialled it back to easy. Quite nice weather for running although it started raining heavily during the 12th mile, bumped into Kate, Milo and the dogs. Had to stop for 5 mins or so to help them back to the car in the heavy rain as Milo likes to carry on and the dogs hate heavy rain and just stand still! Finished the run home via HH, was starting to feel tired towards the end so maybe overdid the easy pace considering i'm not feeling well. Short stop for water at mile 5 and mile 11.

Easy 44:57 [3] 5.45 mi (8:15 / mi) +33m 8:06 / mi
ahr:140 max:173

Progress! Only coughed one lung up after the run rather than the standard two. Wanted to see how I felt with the strides before tomorrow's race, legs feel great but breathing still a bit restricted. Aiming for a good run tomorrow, just don't think it will be anything special.

Friday Jul 26 #

6 PM

Easy 41:27 [2] 5.15 mi (8:03 / mi) +64m 7:45 / mi
ahr:142 max:155

Feeling better today with a lot less coughing. Breathing still feels a little restricted so tok it easy on a flattish route out to Cults and back. Right hip feels amazing though!
7 PM

S&C 30:00 [3]

Ran through the exercises after the run. Squats and calf raises a bit of a struggle on the left leg. My son thinks the box drills are hilarious. A lot less tightness in my right hip/right quad.

Note
(sick)

Sick Note. Felt awful after the run yesterday evening, hardly slept last night and felt pretty bad for most of the day. Feeling better Thursday evening so hopefully the day off knocks it on the head.

Wednesday Jul 24 #

4 PM

Easy 1:12:23 [3] 8.94 mi (8:06 / mi) +158m 7:40 / mi
ahr:142 max:157

Run in the late afternoon after a busy day with my son. Thought I was on the mend so went for a run round HH trails, felt fine during the run although throat was a bit iratted during the strides so a bit of coughing. About an hour after the run felt pretty awful

Tuesday Jul 23 #

8 AM

S&C 40:00 [3]

Ran through all the JC and some of the RS exercises. Box drills hard work and single leg calf raises tough on the left calf. Side lying glute exercises quite hard to get the correct position to ork the glute properly. Added some hip foam rolling and it's feeling pretty good.
5 PM

Easy 51:44 [2] 6.22 mi (8:19 / mi) +86m 7:59 / mi
ahr:141 max:156

Jelly legs for the first few miles following the S&C earlier and being on the go with my son all day. Run out to Cults trails and home via the DSL, starting to feel better again, hip feeling really good.

Monday Jul 22 #

12 PM

Easy 32:38 [2] 4.07 mi (8:01 / mi) +19m 7:54 / mi
ahr:140 max:158

Easy run home from CW via HH after walking the dogs. Still a bit of a cough hanging about but don't feel too bad today. Warm and humid day so appreciated the breeze to keep things a bit cooler. Right hip a little stiff today otherwise legs felt good.
