long dog walk in the morning so waited until it got dark and took the headtorch for a HH spin. Felt good so kept going to CW, very muddy with some icy patches still. Still felt good so took a tour of Kingshill then headed back to HH and home. Bit longer than it should've been and was struggling on the final mile home with the right hip getting tighter, shouldn't have run the Kingshill loop, bad Russell!! Make and model of trail shoes unrecognisable due to the mud on them.

Groin a bit uncomfortable for the first few minutes of the run then eased. Route mostly on trails with some shin deep mud to contend with, all the work getting my trail shoes clean in the snow ruined in one run.

the sulk has not returned. groin felt a bit tight during the lunch walk with the dogs, got ready for the run and ran about 200m and felt an ache in a too much information area and didnt feel like i was running right so binned the run.

Still thinking of goals/challenges until we get some sort of hope of racing. i got a reply to a comment on the D33 facebook group suggesting i try doing the Bairds Brae 33 times the same weekend of the cancelled race, a quick calc at it would be approx 23miles with ~4500ft of vertical gain, but it would be the downhills that would likely kill me, aim for the weekend would be to cover the 33 miles, so maybe splitting the 33 climbs over the sat/sun, but trying the climbs in one go would be more of a challenge.

option 2 would be to scrap the longer targets until there is a race i can enter and go back to training for a 5K/10k TT but keep aiming for the megahill. i do feel like i have unfinished business training specifically for a 5K/10k. the thinking continues

Sulk over! opted for a run today rather than a rest day because I've taken the last week off and ive got hee haw to recover from. Lots of snow plus some horrible weather at the weekend meant that motivation levels dropped to an all time low. something to highlight was that my dodgy toe was swollen on Thursday for a couple days making it a bit uncomfortable to walk, really not sure what's up with it tbh but it was fine on the run will have to see what its like on the longer runs.
