Comrie Scottish hill race champs, hill top finish. Probably the toughest race I’ve ever ran, was brutal, wanted to just crawl up into a ball and stop moving lols. First 9km was just lots of ups and downs and felt pretty speedy and ok but pretty bonky and just new it was gonna be a big grind. Went off too fast with a girl from Dundee uni, dropped her just as the real climb started with still 3k to go. Legs had nothing left, was a slog up to the top, good views but hard work. Not prepared for how hot and sunny it would be so didn’t take water, managed to get some out a stream on the run back down and a jelly baby from Lorna Eades, a true life saver.

Results aren’t up yet so don’t know how I did, but personally feel pretty disappointed with how I preformed especially on the main climb. Been feeling really good in training and up the hills but don’t feel that showed today sadly. Didn’t really prepare properly for the race this week (rest wise) and was definitely lacking fuel, tank felt empty, ate breakfast at 7:30. Guess that’s what 6 months off racing does!! Not in the routine. Shock to the system but nice to be back in amounts everyone again.

running 53:20 intensity: (52:20 @1) + (1:00 @2) 7.34 km (7:16 / km)

Jelly legs back down, hill top finishes are not the one!! Nice chats with some of the girls so wasn’t so awful.
