Warmed up well - was a little bit of a rush getting prepared as had underestimated the length of the toilet queue.
Not very nervous - slightly excited about running first leg!
After the first and second control felt like I had dropped miles behind but wasn't so far off the leader. Lost sight of Rachael Eleder at no. 7. Did a bit of a rubbish route choice 9-10 but really did not want to have much climb ( left side of rhododendron bushes). Really died from 13 onwards and Toni talking to me slightly distracted me and I got a bit confused as to where I was but quite surprised that I came in 4th, though 4mins down on the leader.

Was really not worried or nervous about this race as it really did not feel like a national event so my motivation wasn't great.
Did all the correct preparation and managed to get pretty motivated. Had quite a good run - lost about 3 mins on no. 5 due to distraction/ lack of concentration but apart from that all the controls were fine. Route choice for control 11 andcontrol 15 were a bit silly and should have put more thought into them.
Very disappointed with this race and it just shows my lack of fitness/speed but I will just have to be patient.

Knee hadn't hurt walking like most days and the bruising is still there but getting better. Can't do press ups or hip flexor exercises as they hurt my knee but did tricep dips, sit ups, planks, physio exercises and stretches. Still have to concentrate a lot doing pilates.

Knee started ok and then got a little bit worse but decided to return after 500m. Slightly worse than when ran on it last mid week.

Went to the gym and went on the cross trainer and did the machine created session three time - It was a really hard work out and my arm muscles were absolutely rubbish!

Swam 42 lengths alternating fast and slow/ 5 strokes / 3 strokes and breast stroke. Then did 3x5 sets of pool running which was very tiring and my quads were rather worn out. Good session.
