Scafell Pike, 55.01

Really enjoyed this one. Led the race from start to finish. Probably not quite as fresh as I felt last week at the Ben but energy levels feeling good. Found a good rythym on the climb and pushed on. 2nd place about 200m behind for most of the climb; felt like a comfortable gap which extended further on the descent. Could have perhaps found a couple of better lines on the top half of the hill with a proper recce. A good 4/5 min Pb though!

Easy + strides
An easy shake out of the legs after a longish drive. Took in a bit of the lower section of the race route but avoided getting too high to save the legs

60’ easy + strides
Kept it very flat along the canal. Quads feeling much better today and legs generally feeling less heavy. Starting to feel a bit more back to normal post Ben race. Massage tomorrow will hopefully loosen things off a bit more

Trail 1:10:00 [1] 12.19 km (5:45 / km) +98m 5:31 / km
shoes: Scott Kinabalu

Very easy trails in the Glen. Quads and ITBs very sore but good to keep the legs moving. Had a foam roll over the legs too - pretty painful on the upper legs but felt better for it after!

Note

Rest day
Very sore quads and one big blister on the right foot is the extent of the damage. Otherwise feeling alright. Hopefully will recover in time for Scafell!
