Grass 27:37 [4] 7.66 km (3:36 / km) +152m 3:17 / km

North League XC, Forres

Felt like more of a struggle today compared to the last xc at Evanton but decent run out all the same on what felt like a very flat course.
Fast start before setting into what must have been about 8th place. Lower back felt quite tight throughout which didn't help things, probably a result of a day chainsawing at work on Friday. Stuck in there and ran mostly at the front of a small group of three, picking off a couple of others along the way, finishing in around 6th in think.
The course was predominantly all grass so ran in the spikes. First time properly racing in them in quite a while. A bit of tightness in the calves by the end and really feeling it in the lower back. No other niggles to report

Grass 30:00 [3] 5.52 km (5:26 / km)

Approx 15' Warm up / 15' cool down with Ally

Energy levels much better today. Usual easy out and back along the canal with hill sprints on the road at halfway. No issues

Road/Trail mix 1:00:00 [1] 11.61 km (5:10 / km) +75m 5:00 / km
shoes: Scott Kinabalu

60' easy + strideouts

Feeling a bit better. Not quite so tired helped by a decent nights sleep.
Blood test after work.
Easy along the canal with strides to finish

Road/Trail mix 1:18:00 [3] 16.42 km (4:45 / km) +45m 4:41 / km
shoes: Adidas UltraBoost

20' easy + Fartlek 6x4' (2' rolling recoveries) + 20' easy

Session on the canal as quite wet/ muddy on the football pitch. Again quite tired for this but still able to put in a decent effort on the 4's. Rolling in and out between efforts. Tightness that i'd been feeling in glutes no longer apparent

Tuesday Nov 19 #

Trail 1:22:00 [1] 15.38 km (5:20 / km) +165m 5:04 / km
shoes: Adidas Terrex agravic speed

80' easy
Cold doesn't seem to have come to anything more, although still feeling quite tired so kept it all very easy. A bit sore in the glutes. Booked in for another blood test on Thursday.

Monday Nov 18 #

A late finish at work. Felt absolutely exhausted after a long day chainsawing and feeling the start of a cold coming on. Felt like a run would be counter productive.
Stopped at the leisure centre for a sauna after work plus 30 mins S+C back at home

Trail 2:00:00 [3] 27.47 km (4:22 / km) +654m 3:54 / km
shoes: iRocks

2hrs Moderate inc. Cow hill winter league
Legs felt far from fresh for this. Ran the winter league race which was predominantly on undulating trails, legs pretty heavy which made me keep a lid on the pace. 40 mins all in all for this and first back. Had a brief stop at the end for number to be taken etc. before continuing the run on some more undulating trails. Felt like I was working hard towards the end, particularly last 20 mins.
