Saturday May 29 #

Mountain 3:30:00 [1] 18.01 km (11:40 / km) +1260m 8:38 / km
shoes: VJ XTRM

Slightly off schedule today. Ross G, Sarah and Andy D were all in the area so caught up with them for a traverse of the Liathach ridge in Torridon.
A bit of easy running to start and finish but mostly hiking and scrambling over the ridge itself. A good day for it. Some cracking hills

Trail 1:23:24 [3] 17.17 km (4:51 / km) +582m 4:09 / km
shoes: Salomon S-Lab Amphib

Easy + 3 x Long hill reps + Easy

Hamstrings were feeling much better for this. Used the track up to the mast on Craig Dunain hill in Inverness; decent landrover track really so very runnable. Reps felt good and fairly consistent, approx 10 mins each, easy jog down between each

Thursday May 27 #

Trail / Fell (Easy ) 1:15:51 [1] 11.25 km (6:45 / km) +651m 5:14 / km
shoes: VJ XTRM

Easy run with Fraser after work, on the trails up and around Little Wyvis. Hamstrings were feeling fairly tight again so decided to give the hill sprints a miss.

Wednesday May 26 #

Trail 1:00:12 [3] 16.59 km (3:38 / km) +3m 3:38 / km
shoes: Hoka Carbon X 2

60’ moderate

Out along the canal. One of those runs when the legs were feeling pretty good and seemed to want to turnover a touch faster than normal.
Intensity was perhaps creeping beyond moderate on a few occasions but still felt controlled.

Goblet Squats 10kg
Split Squat 10kg
Single Leg RDLs 10kg

shoes: Hoka Carbon X 2

Easy + strides

A flat one along the river and onto the canal. Quads feeling much better today; hamstrings still slightly tighter than usual but better than the last couple of days

Monday May 24 #

Road/Trail mix 1:11:19 [1] 13.38 km (5:20 / km) +324m 4:45 / km
shoes: Salomon S-Lab Amphib

Easy + strides

From the house and up into the woods on some muddy singletrack. Like yesterday, hamstrings were feeling a bit tight to begin with but loosened up a bit during the run. Feeling some doms in the quads but felt better after some strides

Sunday May 23 #

Trail/ Mountain mix 2:25:00 [1] 22.64 km (6:24 / km) +849m 5:24 / km
shoes: VJ XTRM

Easy 2hrs +

Easy run in the Cairngorms, up onto Bynack more from Glenmore. Some nice trail for the most part but still feeling very wintery up high. Wasn't expecting so much snow to still be hanging on - definitely the right decision to put the 4000ers on the backburner for now.
Legs feeling a touch heavy on the climb. Hammys a bit tight but soon loosened off. Some DOMs in the quads but nothing major

S+C (C+P) 40:00 [1]

2 sets
Side plank knee to chest
Single leg bridges
Side dips
Swiss ball crunch twist
Dead bugs with ball
Swiss ball Hamstring curls
One leg ball squats
