Saturday Jun 12 #

Cycling 2:40:00 [1]

52km / 400m

No issues with the leg cycling so got out for a good spin. First time on the bike in ages. Leg certainly seems to have improved having on ran on it in a couple of days. No traverse tomorrow but will test it again with an easy run

S+C (C+P) 40:00 [1]

2 sets
Side plank knee to chest
Single leg bridges
Side dips
Swiss ball crunch twist
Dead bugs with ball
Swiss ball Hamstring curls
One leg ball squats

Friday Jun 11 #

Note

Late finish at work. Decided to give the leg some rest

Thursday Jun 10 #

Road/Trail mix 1:01:09 [1] 12.19 km (5:01 / km) +181m 4:40 / km
shoes: Hoka Carbon X 2

60’ easy

Felt a bit stiff around that upper hamstring area initially; eased off somewhat during the run but still aware of it not feeling quite right for the duration. Overall probably no better than yesterday.

Wednesday Jun 9 #

Trail 1:05:27 [1] 13.57 km (4:49 / km) +177m 4:32 / km
shoes: Hoka Carbon X 2

Easy - no strides
Still feeling some soreness on that left side but not as uncomfortable as it felt yesterday

Tuesday Jun 8 #

Trail (Easy) 39:48 [1] 8.05 km (4:57 / km) +121m 4:36 / km
shoes: Hoka Carbon X 2

That was disappointing.
When warming up I could feel something wasn’t 100% right high up in left hamstring (most aware of it with the hamstring extension drill). When running I was more aware of this discomfort in the left hip area though. Persevered in the hope whatever it was might ease off but no luck with that so had to cut the planned hour short. No strides. Bit concerning

Monday Jun 7 #

Trail 1:00:15 [1] 12.19 km (4:57 / km) +354m 4:19 / km
shoes: Salomon S-Lab Amphib

Bug seems to have cleared at last.

Ran on some nice trails for an hour just above loch ness. Pushed on a bit on one short climb to see how the body reacted but otherwise kept it easy with a few strides to finish. Running ok despite a few days of feeling ill. Felt a slight niggle at the top of left hamstring / into the glute to begin with but became less noticeable further into the run

Sunday Jun 6 #

Note
(sick)

A rough weekend... been feeling ill since Friday with some kind of stomach bug. High temperature and generally feeling sick. Took a covid test just incase but came back negative.
Shame to miss todays long run but wouldn't have got far feeling like this. Starting to feel a bit better this evening so will hopefully be okay for an easy run tomorrow
