Tuesday Oct 31

Running 59:00 [3]

Monday Oct 30

Running hills 49:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Willans Hill run, all was going well until I was running along the top of the hill and saw a brown snake curled up on the side of the track, scared the hell out of me. Needless to say I looked at every single stick lying on the track twice (and maybe even a third time if it looked suspicious) for the rest of the run.

Sunday Oct 29

Running hills 48:30 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
My calves were killing for most of the run, my fault for doing hills after wearing heels the night before. Was an nice morning for a run thou.

Saturday Oct 28

Running long 1:45:00 [4]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Long run out on Plumpton road and then looped back around to the Lake. Was quite an enjoyable run, except for the horrible head wind that I had for the first 30mins, then when I finally changed directions I had the unpleasant smell of the Wagga tip to deal with, I'll be saving that run for a non-windy day next time.

Friday Oct 27

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Easy morning run around the Lake, felt a bit better than yesterday

Thursday Oct 26

Running 59:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Felt very flat and slow, should have gone for a cycle instead

Wednesday Oct 25

Running hills 48:30 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Willans Hill run, ran the first 20mins with Dad before he took a short cut. Struggled up the hills, legs were feeling very heavy.

Tuesday Oct 24

Cycling (Mtb) 1:08:00 [3]
Cycle around Wagga (yes the town is that small that you can pretty much cycle around it in an hour)

Monday Oct 23

Cycling (Mtb) 1:00:00 [3]
Could not face any form of running today, so decided to dust the cobwebs off my bike and go for a ride. Found a TSR which I didnt know existed about 10mins from my house so followed that for a while (would be a good running loop, thou I think it'll be snake paradise in summer), ended up coming home via Boiling Down road and had a lovely duel with two magpies!! All in all a good afternoon!!

Sunday Oct 22

Event: Victorian Long Championships

Orienteering race 1:04:00 [5] 7.2 km (8:53 / km)
shoes: Jalas - old
Was in my comfort zone for todays race, granite!! Mt Beckworth, was just that a big hill smack in the middle of the map!! And only meant one thing, lots of uphill!!

Made a couple of errors early on at the 1st and 2nd controls (tho not as bad as some), and was very happy with the rest of the course. Didn't enjoy the slog up the hill from 3 to 4 (about 25 contours), but did enjoy the rock!!

Surprised myself again with a win, but I must mention that Kathryn and Tash probably would have beat me had they not picked up the wrong maps at the start (Kathryn went back and got the right map, Tash ran the wrong course)
C • good work 5

Saturday Oct 21

Event: Victorian Middle Championships

Orienteering race 29:04 [5] 3.7 km (7:51 / km)
shoes: Jalas - old
Vic Middle Distance Champs in some nice techical gold mining terrain and as a result never felt entirely confident with my navigating. Was very cautious to the first few controls (probably a bit too cautious!!) and then by the time I had gotten more confident with my navigating I had nearly finished!! Felt pretty good fitness wise. Ended up coming 7th, times were close thou I think 3 and a half mins between me and first

Thursday Oct 19

Running 59:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom

Wednesday Oct 18

Running 53:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Pommy group run, good turn out this week and the pace wasn't too slow either

Tuesday Oct 17

Running 1:14:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Legs felt like lead, was hot and I there was a horrible head wind, not the most enjoyable run, thankfully my ipod kept me going

Monday Oct 16

Running 35:40 [4]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Arvo run around Lake Albert
C • Good Work 2

Sunday Oct 15

Running long 1:40:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Hadnt planned on running for this long but was feeling surprisingly good, running with my ipod helped keep the motivation up. Did however have my first magpie incident but wasn't too dramatic.

Saturday Oct 14

Running race 37:49 [5] 8 km (4:44 / km) vdot: 42.1
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano
What a painful outing, Road Runners at Wiradjuri, a nice run along the Murrumbidgee. But it was still pretty hot, I was a tad hung over from the Pharmacy Ball and had eaten a big breakfast for Dad's b'day not a good running combination
C • Road Runners 4

Friday Oct 13

Note
(rest day)
Decided to sleep in this morning, thought about going for a run after work but it was 36 degrees, plus had the Pharmacy Ball so had to get ready for that

Thursday Oct 12

Running 58:00 [3]
Standard morning run, felt surprisingly good after doings hills last night

Wednesday Oct 11

Running 50:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Group run at Pommy, was a nice easy pace this week as some of the guys are running the Fitzroy Falls Marathon this weekend, suited me and my tired legs fine.

Tuesday Oct 10

Running 57:38 [4]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Nice flat run to Mitchell Road and then back around the Lake, was a tad warmer than I expected but a good stretch of the legs.

Monday Oct 9

Note
(rest day)
After the epic trip home from WA, spent the day sleeping

Sunday Oct 8

Orienteering race (Aus Relay Champs) 44:35 [5] 5.7 km (7:49 / km)
shoes: Jalas - old
First leg for the Stingers, Phoebe 2nd and Catherine 3rd legs.

Was a bit of a strange relay in that even thou I was first leg runner I was pretty much by myself for the entire course!! Didnt see any other females on my course until the 3rd control, then Sophie passed me and I saw Allison a bit behind me.
Felt very slow today, legs hadn't recovered at all from Saturdays race and the long slogs up the hill were horrible, was just happy to finish!!

Saturday Oct 7

Orienteering race (Aus Champs) 1:29:03 [5] 9.5 km (9:22 / km) +385m 7:48 / km
shoes: Jalas - old
Was never 100% confident with my navigation today. Over ran the first control and then was very scrappy to the next 5 controls, got to the circle fine, just stuffed around in it. Kathyrn caught me just before the spectator control and we were together for the remainder of the course.
Felt physically strong for the course which was a positive and was really happy with my 5th place.

Friday Oct 6

Running 31:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Easy morning run around the tracks at our accommodation, spent the rest of the day in Perth.

Thursday Oct 5

Orienteering race (Aus Sprint Champs) 14:08 [5] 2.8 km (5:03 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
A sprint champs that I actually enjoyed (and didn't stuff up). Had a pretty clean run and felt like I was running strongly.

Wednesday Oct 4

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Easy run with Dad along the farm tracks around our accommodation

Tuesday Oct 3

Orienteering race 45:49 [5] 6.4 km (7:10 / km) +210m 6:09 / km
shoes: Jalas - old
Mid week NOL race in some nice open rocky terrain. Was wet and windy at the start and really wasn't looking forward to running, thankfully cleared up early on. Made some silly mistakes at 4 and 6 and was pretty tired by the last loop.

Sunday Oct 1

Orienteering race (WA Champs, Day 2) 1:18:35 [5] 7.5 km (10:29 / km) +410m 8:14 / km
shoes: Jalas - old
Felt like I spent the race slogging my way up hills and fighting through thick green bush. Apart from that I enjoyed the course, lost a minute or two at 5, was a bit low. Was feeling pretty confident with my navigation for most of the course and actually stuck to my route choices. Quite surprised with 3rd place thou.
