Saturday Mar 31

Orienteering long 1:32:03 [4] 12 km (7:40 / km)
shoes: Jalas - old
Back out to Connorton, ran the M21A course from last weekends badge event. Started the course inbetween 6 - 7 so didn't have to drive through the map. Felt pretty good for the first 60mins and then slowly started to fade (thankfully dad put water out whilst running the M50A course), last few controls were killers. Technically I felt pretty good, didn't have many similar controls to my course, thou did have number 2 (the one a few people stuffed up, including me last week), and attacked it from the east, found it a lot easier than last week.

Friday Mar 30

Running 1:07:00 [3]
(sick) shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Will be glad when this weeks over!!

Morning run along Plumpton/Redbank Rd, a lot on my mind so the run went rather quickly.

Had a job interview this morning for the position Ive been acting in for nearly 2 years. First real interview and needless to say I was rather nervous.... lets hope that I have a job when I get back from SA.

Thursday Mar 29

Running 1:00:00 [3]
(sick) shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Feeling a fair bit better this morning (well enough to go back to work), still had a stomach ache on and off during the day.

Felt surprisingly good running this arvo, had only planned on 40mins, but was feeling good. Carried out my good deed for the day as well, saved a little turtle from being splattered on Plumpton Rd.

Wednesday Mar 28

Note
(sick)
Another day at home, mostly in bed or on the couch. Feeling a lot better than yesterday, managed a 30min stroll around Tatton to get some fresh air. Hopefully an easy jog tomorrow, and back to work

Tuesday Mar 27

Note
(sick)
Woke up feeling rather sick, headache, body ache, you name it, spent the day in bed. Turns out I have a virus, what timing :(

Monday Mar 26

Cycling (Mtb) 1:25:00 [3]
Gregadoo Loop Cycle. Was one of those frustrating days where I seemed to have a headwind no matter which direction I was going.
C • i hate that 1

Sunday Mar 25

Event: NSW State League #2 (badge)

Orienteering race 1:04:46 [5] 8 km (8:06 / km) +285m 6:52 / km
shoes: Jalas - old
Nice to have a SL in my own backyard (well nearly), had to remind myself that I wasn't out there for a training run (early starter so weren't too many peopl out there).

Over ran the 2nd control and then totally lost concentration on the long leg to 8, thankfully was able to relocate fairly qucikly. Started to tire by the end, but was pretty happy with my time and place (2nd, Jo did 60.07)

Note
50mins of bush bashing that I didn't think was appropriate to log, but we unfortunately had to send out a search party for Brian Johnson at around 12.30pm, he'd been out since 9.30am, and was the last person out. Six of us headed out, thankfully the local land holder found him. By this time I was on the other side of the map and had a long treck back.

Saturday Mar 24

Event: NSW Sprint Champs (NSW SL1)

Orienteering (Putting out Controls) 50:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Woke up to the lovely sound of rain, just what I wanted today!! 40mins of putting out controls in probably the wettest part of the morning, wasn't enjoyable at all!! Ground was so damn hard that I couldn't get half the controls in. Then spent 10mins checking the controls John put out

Orienteering (Sprint) 16:33 [5] 2.9 km (5:42 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Tested out the Red 1/2/3 course (W/M21A) for the sprint. Arms were sore from putting out controls earlier. Pretty happy with my time compared the offical results, thou guess I kinda had an advantage since I set the course!!

Orienteering (Collecting Controls) 15:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Quick jog around to collect controls, much easier than putting them out!!

Was quite happy with how today went, had the usual pre-race stress out, but with no major stuff ups (main worry - control getting stollen, but since it was wet no-one was out at the uni), can sleep easy now!!

Friday Mar 23

Note
(rest day)
Too hot, too tired and too much stuff to do for the weekend, good excuse(s) for a day off
C • looks like you earned it 1

Thursday Mar 22

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Morning run around the Lake. Was still dark, so had to do it reverse so I had some street lights for the first 10mins
Running 49:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Not sure why but I decided to do my Willans run again this afternoon. Was hot (33 degrees, better cool down before the weekend) and I was feeling a bit sore from running it yesterday. But felt good for doing it afterwards.

Wednesday Mar 21

Running 49:30 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Willans run. Ate way too many lollies at work this arvo (oops, but always seems to happen when we stock up the jar!!) and felt rather ill half way round, was yucky and humid again today as well.

Tuesday Mar 20

Running 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Afternoon run to Plumpton Hill and home, was sprinkling with rain the whole time, thou not enough to get really wet from!

Monday Mar 19

Running intervals 20:00 [4] 4 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
4 x 500m with a 500m recovery (up and back along the boat club road). Was pretty slow
Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Air Zoom
Jog to the boat club road and home

Sunday Mar 18

Running 50:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Morning run in Canberra from our accom on Northborne to ANU and then for a bit along Lake Burley Griffin. Legs felt surprisingly good after spending the night before in heels, the rest of me felt ok cept I was damn tired as a result of the dodgy bed at the motel.

Saturday Mar 17

Running 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Morning run, just 30mins out on Plumpton road and back home. Was sprinkling with rain which was nice.Off to Canberra today for a wedding this afternoon, should be good.

Friday Mar 16

Running 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Long run in the arvo, was uncomfortably humid and never really got into the run, so was just happy to get home.

Thursday Mar 15

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Easy morning run around the lake
Running intervals 30:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
5 x 100m hill sprints. A fairly poor effort on my behalf, just didnt have the motivation (my legs were saying no after being stuck in a car for most of the day) plus it was 34 degrees..... isn't it meant to be cooling down soon?!?!
long warm and cool down

Wednesday Mar 14

Running 49:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Willans run, was warmer than I thought and probably should have taken water as I was struggling by the end

Tuesday Mar 13

Running 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
The one good thing about early starts for work is that you can (hopefully) finish early. Felt pretty good this arvo. Not going to Sydney tomorrow which is kinda good (dont have to get up at 5am!) but really quite frustrating

Monday Mar 12

Running intervals 40:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Had planned on doing a 1km time trial today, but it was hot and my legs just woudn't warm up. Think I'll wait until it cools down a bit more.

Long warm up and some stretches.
4 x 400m with 200m recovery, enough for me!! Struggled with my breathing again.
Cool down
Cycling (Mtb) 15:00 [3]
Ride to and from Jubliee Oval

Had been hoping for a week of no travelling for work, however things not looking so promising. Going to Tumut tomorrow, Sydney Wednesday and Albury Thursday... eeek!!

Sunday Mar 11

Running 1:35:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Decided to do a long run this morning instead of going out to our local event at Pommy. Nice morning, not too warm, felt pretty good and managed to control my breathing unlike yesterday

Saturday Mar 10

Running race 34:01 [5] 7.4 km (4:36 / km) vdot: 43.3
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Road Runners at Lake Albert. Was a minute faster than last week but felt a lot slower. Struggled with my breathing, just couldn't get into a comfortable rhythm. At least it was cooler than last week!
Cycling (Mtb) 20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Ride to and from Road Runners

Friday Mar 9

Running 55:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Morning Mitchell run, haven't done this one in a few weeks and once I was out the door I seriously considered going back inside to get my head torch, maybe next week!! Felt pretty slow on the way out but picked it up on the way home

Thursday Mar 8

Running 1:08:00 [3] 13 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Morning run into work again, had a few issues with my key and ended up having a carry it. Started raining bout 30mins into the run, only lasted 5mins but was nice and refreshing
Running hills 30:00 [4] 5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Hill session on Red Hill.

10 min warm up along the tracks.
5 x 100m hill intervals with a recovery jog back down
10 min cool down

Hard session for my little legs, tried to push it as hard as I could. Didn't stretch properly after this mornings run so was feeling a bit tight in the calves. Dad joined me for this session which gave me a bit more motivation

Wednesday Mar 7

Running 49:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Standard Willans run

Tuesday Mar 6

Running 1:07:30 [3] 13 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Decided it was about time I ran to work in the morning. Tried to make it a bit scenic, and added a bit of distance by going around the Lake at the start, Kooringal Rd was pretty boring and lots of traffic so was glad to get to the levee bank and run along the River for a bit. Shower at work isn't the best but I guess I'll have to get used to it

Monday Mar 5

Running intervals 40:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Athletics track finally open again!! Flat grass with no big holes (wonder how long it will last). Feeling pretty sore from the weekend, so just did a long warm up and then 4 x 400m with a 200m recovery.

Sunday Mar 4

Running race (Albury Wodonga Freeway Ru) 34:53 [5] 8 km (4:22 / km) vdot: 46.3
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
This years Cumbernoona Fun Run along the Murray was changed to the Albury Wodonga Freeway Fun Run, inconjunction with the offical opening of the bypass. Was an out and back course from the Athletics track, along the Freeway to the bridges over the Murray and back, followed by a lap of the track.

Felt pretty comfortable the entire run, was at 7.30am so didnt really have the heat to deal with. Felt a bit strange running along the Freeway, as all my previous visits have been for site inspections!!Happy with my time, had been aiming for 36mins and was either 7th or 8th female overall.

Saturday Mar 3

Running race 35:05 [5] 7.4 km (4:44 / km) vdot: 41.8
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Road Runners at Lake Albert. Back to a 1pm start again which wasn't great as it was 34 degrees!! Kept a steady pace and made sure I didnt go to fast at the start as I usually do. Time wasn't the greatest but given the heat I was happy, first female home and 6th overall.

Friday Mar 2

Note
(rest day)
Up at 5am today, not for running thou. Had to go to Hay and Booligal (100km north of Hay) for work today, construction site inspections for new bridges in the middle of nowhere.... long day in the car. We ran over a black snack on the way back (taking some random back roads). Thought about going for a run when I got back to Wagga but was easily convinced into going to the pub instead

Thursday Mar 1

Running 1:09:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Hadn't planned on running this long this morning but was feeling pretty good s pushed on
Orienteering (Street O) 40:30 [4] 8.6 km (4:43 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
My last street score O for the summer, TolBourklands this week so lots of hills. Made some very random route choices but managed to get all but 3 controls.
