| Note | ||
| (rest day) | ||
| Don't think my body would have handled any form of exercise today, was feeling rather sore and tired all day | ||
Sunday Jul 15 | ||
| Orienteering race (Aus Relay Champs) 39:08 [5] 5 km (7:50 / km) | ||
| shoes: Jalas - new | ||
| Wasn't too keen on running today after my performance the previous day, was rather tired as well. Ran 2nd leg of the Stingers team, Tracy came back just seconds behind Jo (in 1st), so Mace and I pretty much started together. Had Mace in my sights for the first few controls (we had different loops), and was sure she was ahead of my for the entire run. Didn't enjoy the uphill leg.... Finished thinking we were 2nd, but had passed Mace somewhere and we were leading. Orla ran our 3rd leg, we came 3rd, yay!! Was an exicting sprint finish for 1st and 2nd between Vanessa and Cassie, SA just won. | ||
| C • good on you briohny
thanks ... 1 | ||
Saturday Jul 14 | ||
| Orienteering race (Aus Champs) 1:32:00 [5] 9.4 km (9:47 / km) +350m 8:15 / km | ||
| shoes: Jalas - new | ||
| I think my time speaks for itself..... horrible.
Was doing well to the 7th control, no mistakes and felt pretty good running wise and then it all came crashing down at 8... 10, 11 and 16. My alternate reason for such a bad run is that it would have been a bit suspicious if the course setters daughter had a blinder. Thanks Dad, I really did enjoy your course (minus my dumb mistakes!)
Friday Jul 13 | ||
| Orienteering 30:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Jalas - new | ||
| Easy jog around the model map (mainly because my club was organising it), was nice once I finally thawed out after watching the JWOC relay! | ||
Thursday Jul 12 | ||
| Orienteering race (Western Plains Challenge) 35:40 [4] 4.5 km (7:56 / km) +185m 6:34 / km | ||
| shoes: Jalas - new | ||
| My first taste of the Dubbo terrain, really enjoyed it. Started off slow to get a feel of the map. The first control came up a lot faster than I had expected. Tash caught me (1min behind) at the 2nd, we over ran the 4th and from here on I tried to ignore her and navigate by myself. Drifted too much to the north for 9, and was pretty happy with the rest. | ||
Wednesday Jul 11 | ||
| Running 38:30 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus | ||
| Easy morning run around the Lake, arrived home with some lovely frost on my gloves!
Drive back to Dubbo after work, not too bad, all the traffic seemed to be going the opposite direction.
Tuesday Jul 10 | ||
| Running 47:15 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus | ||
| Standard Willans Hill run, another great afternoon for running. Was feeling surprisingly good on the hills, took it pretty cautiously on the downhills tho as my ankle was feeling a bit sore from Saturday | ||
Monday Jul 9 | ||
| Running 1:03:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7 | ||
| A beautiful, clear afternoon not a cloud in the sky, yippee!! Left work at 3.30 to make the most of it. Two laps of Lake Albert, was the first time I'd run on the new part of the track (infront of the golf course). Quite an enjoyable run, lots of people out walking.

Sunday Jul 8 | ||
| Running intervals 16:00 [4] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 | ||
| Drove back to Wagga after watching the Sprint (some of us have to work this week :( ), was a long and frustrating drive - patchy rain and a heap of Learner drivers mixed with the odd 'Sunday drivers'... slow!!
Cam was keen to go for a run when I got home, ended up doing 3 x 500m along Nelson Dr. He really pushed me on the first one (will probably beat me next time!). Was good too stretch the legs after the drive.
| Running warm up/down 16:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 | ||
| Jog to and from Nelson Dr | ||
Saturday Jul 7 | ||
| Event: JWOC 2007 | ||
| Orienteering race (NSW Champs) 1:17:35 [5] 9.5 km (8:10 / km) +350m 6:54 / km | ||
| shoes: Jalas - new | ||
| Pretty happy with my run today, needed a bit of a confidence booster before next weekend. Took the safe route to 1, along the track and then up through the saddle, which allowed me to adjust to the scale and get my legs moving. A bit hight for number 4 and then got stuck in the green going to 7, thankfully came out right under the control. Had a nice stack on the way to 12, knocked the wind out of me for a bit. Fairly clean for the remainder of the course, cept climbed a bit too high for 13.
Good course, I enjoyed going from relatively vague areas to the rocky parts, kept me thinking. Ended up coming 7th.... in 77 mins on the 07/07/07..... nice!
Friday Jul 6 | ||
| Running 38:30 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus | ||
| Easy morning run around the Lake, weather was great! No wind or rain!
Hadn't planned on doing anything today but given I'll more than likely be sitting at my desk all day and then another 4 hours in the car this arvo thought it might be a good idea!
Thursday Jul 5 | ||
| Running 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus | ||
| Morning run to work, altered my usual route as it was just too dark to run around Lake Albert at the start, so added a bit at the end. Thankfully the rain and the horrible wind held off until I'd just about gotten to work.
Sports massage at lunch, went back to work feeling very relaxed and sleepy
Wednesday Jul 4 | ||
| Running 52:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus | ||
| Woke up to the sound of rain, stayed in bed for a couple of minutes before dragging myself out, given I'd piked last week I thought Id better give it a go this week. Wasn't too bad once I got going, rain had become lighter, managed to run through some nice puddles thou in the dark
| ||
| Gym 1:00:00 [3] | ||
| Good session today, no biceps but I wasn't complaining | ||
Tuesday Jul 3 | ||
| Running 48:10 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 | ||
| Standard Willans Hill run, was a bit muddy and slippery in some places after last nights rain. | ||
Monday Jul 2 | ||
| Running warm up/down 16:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 | ||
| Jog to and from Nelson Dr
| ||
| Running intervals 20:00 [4] | ||
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 | ||
| Intervals (4 x 500m) along Nelson Dr. Cam came along and ended up running 3 reps himself. Started the first one together, think it was my fastest time yet - we both pushed each other, didn't want my younger brother to beat me (and I'm guessing he didn't want his sister to beat him!!) I ended up getting him by a few seconds.
Following three were a bit slower. Good session tho, nice to have company.
Sunday Jul 1 | ||
| Running long 1:45:00 [3] | ||
| shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS7 | ||
| Morning long run. Around Wagga Loop. Hardly any people out this morning which was surprising given it was such a nice morning (well a tad chilly but not wet). Longest run in my new shoes, nice and comfy | ||
