Event: City2Surf

Running race (City to Surf) 1:06:59 [5] 14 km (4:47 / km) vdot: 43.2
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Back in Sydney for another go at the City to Surf, I still struggle with the fact that more people run in the race than live in Wagga!!

Got in the first group this year and had a hell of a time getting started, about 4km into the run I knew it was going to be a struggle, it was hot (well compared to what its been like in Wagga) and humid, which I can't deal with. I just kept pushing myself, nearly threw up a couple of times but given the number of people around me it was prob best that it didnt happen (saved it til the finish), the last km was hard!! I stumbled across the finish line and then somehow found the RTA team tent for free drinks (there was food but it wasn't an option!).

Despite how it sounds I did actually enjoy myself (blame the weather), pity I wasn't as fit as last year as I would have liked to have beaten my previous time (63.43), theres always next time!! Had a great time catching up with Clare at the start!!
Note
went to the Swans v Saints game last night at Telstra Stadium, first time I'd been there, good game and a great atmosphere

Running race (Road Runners) 38:13 [5] 8 km (4:47 / km) +220m 4:12 / km
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
First Road Runners in nearly 2 months. One of the more enjoyable locations - Willans Hill. Tough course with lots of uphill (and then downhills, almost always on narrow rocky tracks), however not a big fan of the uphill start!
Got there just before it started so hadn't really warmed up properly, took a while to get my breathing under control but then felt pretty good. A new fastest time on this course (compared to last year), and was the first female home, even beat Carmel K, yay!
