Thursday Jan 31

Running 38:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Slow morning plod around the Lake, I think I should have stretched more after yesterdays hill run

C • Congratulations on your new... 6
Cycling (Road) 38:00 [3]
Was feeling energetic (or just silly) and road out to the uni for the Summer Series, can't say I enjoyed riding on the highway - too many scary trucks!!

Orienteering (Summer Series) 28:15 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
First Summer Series for 08 - out at CSU. Was a score event with a 30min time limit, I got 33/34 controls with some time to spare. Didn't plan my routes very well at all and ended up doubling back on myself a couple of times

Wednesday Jan 30

Running 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Standard Willans run but with another loop in the middle, so 6 hills instead of 4. It hurt. Lots of thunder around but unfortunately no water :(

Tuesday Jan 29

Running 50:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Nice morning full lap of the lake, from home and back

Running intervals 34:30 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
3 x 1.3km bush track intervals on Willans hill, plus warm up and cool down.

Looks as thou my legs will be seeing a lot more of Willans Hill and a lot less of Lake Albert soon. Trent and I bought a house today!! In Turvey Park, about 2mins from Willans Hill. Very very nervous at the moment but very excited as well, just hope everything runs smoothly with the purchase - I'm sure I'll be stressing like nothing else until we have the keys.

Monday Jan 28

Running 49:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
First brown snake of the season.... up on Willans hill, if I hadn't had stopped to tie my shoelace just before I probably would have stepped on it, eekkk

Cycling (Road) 37:32 [4] 18 km (2:05 / km)
Duathalon course bike leg. A bit quicker than last weekend, thou I did have yummy lunch of roast lamb and damper before going out which may have slowed me a bit today :)

Sunday Jan 27

Cycling (Road) 1:20:00 [3] 35 km (2:17 / km)
Morning Airport loop, bit breezy. Was feeling a bit tired from the Aus Day races yesterday

Running 24:15 [5] 5.5 km (4:25 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Lap of the Lake. Pushed it pretty hard, Trent was on the bike racing me (aiming to do two laps to my one), got him this time by a few minutes, however I think if he wasn't so hungover he would have beat me. Happy with my time, think its just about my fastest.

Saturday Jan 26

Running 1:37:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Long run starting from Trents parents house out to Plumpton Hills and back to my house

Friday Jan 25

Running 1:08:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Usual Friday morning loop, nice and cool. No inspections today, yay!!

Thursday Jan 24

Note
(rest day)
Todays training involved getting in and out of a Hilux ute on countless occasions. Started work too early today and finished too late. Just missed watching the blasting out at Kyeamba today, next time

Wednesday Jan 23

Running 49:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Arvo Willans run from home. Legs were feeling the effects of two days walking around site, I hate steel cap boots

Tuesday Jan 22

Running 38:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Early (a bit too early for my liking) morning run around the Lake, lots of water on the track from yesties weird rain

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Jog around some tracks on Willans, before and after intervals

Running intervals 25:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
4 x 1.3kmish intervals on Willans Hill. Energy levels decreased rapidly and times increased with each interval, glad I made myself do them thou.

Monday Jan 21

Running 37:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Fartlek. From home to Apex Park and back, in the rain, not sure where it came from as it was sunny when I left work. This week isn't going to be great for training, three Hume inspections over the next three days

Sunday Jan 20

Running race (Duathalon) 18:03 [5] 4 km (4:31 / km) vdot: 42.6
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Decided to give the Wagga Tri-ants monthly Duathalon a go this morning. Wasn't sure if it was going to be on as it was still drizzling at 8.30am. Had cleared by 9am but still a very small turnout. Felt pretty good on the first run, hadn't really had a chance to warm up

Cycling (Road) race (Duathalon) 37:58 [4] 18 km (2:07 / km)
I am so not a cyclist! Had a lot of fun but was very slow and ended up a bit over 5mins behind the rest (there were only 5 of us doing the long, all with a lot more cycling experience). Was a bit scared on the corners as the road was pretty wet and slippery.

Running race (Duathalon) 8:47 [5] 2 km (4:24 / km) vdot: 41.3
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Ended up running this by myself so had to push myself big time. Legs felt like jelly after getting off the bike and the slight downhill at the start didn't help. All in all happy with how I went and had fun, will definatly go back next month, even if it is just for the yummy breakfast the club puts on afterwards!!

Saturday Jan 19

Running 1:36:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13
Morning long run in the rain, it was great got totally drenched :) along the Wiradjuri track again to the Red Hill underpass and home again, the track at the end was very muddy and slippery so ended up running in the adjacent bush which was fun

Friday Jan 18

Running 1:08:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Great morning for running, cool, overcast (please rain today) and a lovely breeze blowing and to think I nearly stayed in bed!! Standard Plumpton - Boiling Down - Redbank loop, quads were a bit tight at the start from yesterdays intervals but loosened up after 10 mins or so.

Thursday Jan 17

Running 53:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning streets, for something different

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Warm up with Dad before Willans intervals, first time we have run together since June last year. Good to see him running again, thou he did complain that his running top had shrunk... my theory he may have expanded a bit due to his lack of exercise :P
Cool down by myself

C • mis-quoted 4
Running intervals 26:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
4 laps of my made up track, didnt get lost this week. My times were about 20 secs faster than last week, it was 5 degrees cooler today which I think helped.

Wednesday Jan 16

Running 50:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
A killer of a Willans run, did not expect it to be this hot... 38 degrees. Thankfully my ipod kept me going, please cool down soon

Tuesday Jan 15

Running 51:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning run to Lake Albert, full lap and home. I dont think I've seen that many people out running of a morning ever, I counted 9 going the opposite way to me and saw one other in the distance. At times it felt a bit crowed as there were heaps of walkers out as well, I wonder where they go in the winter??

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
A few laps around the cycle track before and after intervals, my cool down felt more like a crawl thou

Running intervals 30:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Pryamid session at the cycle track, was hot and yuck but was determined not to pull out again this week.
2 x 100, 200, 400, 800, 400, 200, 100 (with 100m rec, in between) I was exhausted afterwards

Monday Jan 14

Running (fartlek) 38:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
I know I wasn't going to run today but it was a lot cooler that last week when I got home from work so I thought why not....fartlek to Apex Park and home, think I ate too many strawberries before I went thou.

Sunday Jan 13

Running 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Gateway Island loop from Trents place, was feeling very slow and heavy this morn, plus had a crappy sleep in the Albury heat

C • Is Trent intending to stay ... 4
Cycling (Road) 1:25:00 [3]
Airport loop in the swirling wind, it was horrible and to make things worse I had a head wind for the last 25mins. Think I'll a day off tomorrow after todays efforts

Saturday Jan 12

Running 1:40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning run in nice and cool conditions, went along the Wiradjuri walking track to the new Red Hill Rd extension and then turned around and went home

Friday Jan 11

Running 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
No time for running before work today, had to start at 7am and do my Northern Hume induction, probably the longest (4hours) and most boring induction I've ever done, the guy running it was a tosser so it made it so much worse, can't wait to get out on site thou!! Very very hot afternoon run (38.5 degrees!!) around the Lake, took it quite slowly as I didn't want to cook!!

Thursday Jan 10

Running 50:20 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning run from home, around the lake and back, tried to go a bit faster than my normal morning plods as I'm not sure if I'll make it out this arvo, will have to see how hot it is!! Council have put up distance markers around the track which is surprising, thou they must have run out of money or something as they have poles every 500m for 2km of the lake and every 250m for the remaining 3.5km... makes me wonder how accurate the markers are.

Running 25:25 [4] 5.5 km (4:37 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
After a day sitting at work I somehow found the motivation to run in 37 degree heat... Lap of the Lake, a lot slower than last time but given the conditions I just wanted to get it over with. Surprisingly there were other people out walking.

Wednesday Jan 9

Running 1:08:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning plod down Plumpton, Boiling down Rds and then back past the lake. Had a terrible nights sleep so was tempted to just go around the lake but figured its meant to get to 37 today and Im not too keen to run in those temps.

Tuesday Jan 8

Running 38:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning easy around Lake Albert, was nice not to be running in the sweltering heat. Lasted 15mins before I had to take my orthotics out, had them adjusted last week in the hope of no more blisters, however they came back and in slightly different spots this time.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Had originally planned to do some intervals at the cycle track today but the thought of running around the tar track, with no shade in 35 degree heat turned me off. Decided to go to Willans Hill instead. Warm up and cool down along some random tracks.

Running intervals 25:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Made myself a random loop along some tracks on Willans Hill, I reluctantly picked a nice hill with annoying contour banks in the middle of the loop. Took between 6 and a half and 7mins for each loop, depending on the direction I went. Only got lost once and ended up bush bashing a bit to get back on the track. Hot and stuffed by the end.

Monday Jan 7

Running 39:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Recovery run to Apex Park and back. 36degrees + run = silly idea and a very slow plod!! However I didn't feel as bad as I thought I would after. Scary news today, Trent and I got the thumbs up for a home loan.... now the hunt is on for somewhere to buy, eekkk!!
C • Congratulations! 5

Sunday Jan 6

Running 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Slept in (last day of holidays so figured I was allowed!!), so didn't get running until 9.30am. Went out to Plumpton Hill, had planned on going down and out to Mango Rd but was just too exhausted, felt pretty bad on the way home, a couple more runs and my body should be used to the heat.

Cycling (Mtb) 55:00 [3]
Late arvo ride, still very hot. Back to work tomorrow, figured it's a good time to get back into proper training, a couple more speed sessions and hills are on the cards I think and I'd also better cut down on the ice cream and chocolate... :)

Saturday Jan 5

Cycling (Road) 1:24:00 [3]
Gregadoo loop. A bit slower than I had liked, the wind seemed to be blowing from every direction and by the time I'd got to the airport I was knackered.

Running 24:36 [4] 5.5 km (4:28 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Lap of the Lake. Legs were feeling heavy again at the start but felt better as I went along. Was pretty hot so happy with my time. Managed to convince my parents to join me, Dad's longest run since his op. Went home and made some yummy gnocchi for dinner
C • op 2

Friday Jan 4

Running 48:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Willans Hill run, legs feeling really heavy after yesterdays cycle. Struggled through this one

Thursday Jan 3

Cycling (Road) 1:38:00 [3]
Kept putting this cycle off in the hope that the gusty winds would die down, never happened, so ended up waiting until the aussies got bowled out before I went. Tried to plan the ride so I was going into the wind for the first half, went out to the airport and then along elizabeth ave to gregadoo rd, a couple of scary moment coming back into town with the wind nearly blowing me sideways. Added a loop on around springvale at the end as I was still feeling surprisingly good.

Wednesday Jan 2

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Jog to and from Nelson Dr, struggled home in the heat

Running intervals 20:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Went at 9.30am to do some intervals, checked the temp before I went and it was already 29degrees.... wasn't happy!! As a result I struggled through my 8 x 500m, but felt good for doing them. Very slow times, I'll blame it on the heat and not my unfitness this time

Cycling (Road) 55:30 [3]
Not really sure what I was thinking when I headed out for a ride.... stinking hot.... at least I had filled my camalpak with ice and cold water. Getting a bit more adventurous on the road bike, but getting equally as annoyed with passing motorists who insist on driving as close as they can to you, scares me!!

Tuesday Jan 1

Cycling (Mtb) 1:02:00 [3]
My feet were so sore today, so no running for me (and probaby no heels and/or dancing for a while either). Glad I opted for a ride, was rather hot and I still wasn't feeling the greatest
