 | Cycling (Mtb) (windtrainer) 40:00 [3] | |

| Easy recovery on the windtrainer, only thing I could do without discomfort as had a needle this morning which left my arm aching all day |
Sunday Mar 30 |
 | Orienteering race (NOL MultiLoop) 1:08:52 [5] 9.6 km (7:10 / km) +255m 6:20 / km | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| This hurt, wasn't feeling 100% at the start, last weeks gastro caught up with me and I lacked in energy the entire race, just had to keep pushing myself. Had the shortest loop first (compass was doing some weird spinning thing at one stage which confused me). Had a bit of trouble with the 1st and 2nd on the longest loop. Felt totally exhausted by the end, but was a really fun course wish I had been feeling better |

| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Wasn't sure how I'd go today after thurs and fri, but was feeling ok. Took a bit to work out what was what on the map but had heaps of fun, a bit scrappy on a couple of controls, including #10 which I overran. Pretty happy with my result
|
 | Orienteering race (NOL Sprint Relay) 9:21 [5] 1.4 km (6:41 / km) | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| 2nd leg of the mixed sprint relay, running in a team with Robbie. Was glad I didnt start in the mass start!! Had a bit of trouble with the first control but apart from that was good, ran with Fel for a lot of it which pushed me.
|
 | Orienteering race (NOL Sprint Relay) 10:22 [5] 1.5 km (6:55 / km) | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Final leg of relay and I was stuffed! Once again had trouble with the first one and Fel caught me again, we pushed each other along and ended up dead heating. Going to suffer tomorrow :( |

 | Running 1:08:25 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Could fell every bump and bruise I sustained from the weekend at the start of this run, but settled down after the first 10mins. Felt surprisingly good and even pushed it up the hills at the end, fastest time yet on this new loop. |
Tuesday Mar 25 |
 | Cycling (Road) (Windtrainer) 50:00 [3] | |
| |
| Gave the legs a nice stretch by testing out my windtrainer, very humid after the recent rain and as a result after 5mins was sweating rather a lot, yuk. Spent the rest of the day watching dvd's and eating chocolate...... |
Monday Mar 24 |
 | Orienteering race (Easter Day 3) 1:08:03 [4] 5.6 km (12:09 / km) +170m 10:33 / km | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| My easter wouldnt be complete without a shocking run and today I had that. Felt very flat before I even started, just had no energy. Then the actual race.... Started seconds after Ilka and seconds before Sophie, never saw them after the 1st.... I stuffed 2 so badly, just couldnt read the contours, the only thing I was happy with was my relocation efforts!! Zoe caught me by 4mins here. Then had another shocker at 4, troubles with reading contours again, met Shan (on her way to 3) and she set me right.
From here on just took it slowly and cautiously (thoughts of DNF'ing did pass through my mind), Zoe caught me back up and we ran the last bit together. One to forget!!! |
Sunday Mar 23 |
 | Orienteering race (Easter Day 2) 1:21:03 [5] 8.2 km (9:53 / km) +360m 8:06 / km | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| Really happy with todays run, whilst I finished just outside of the main pack (10th), I didn't make any majors errors, was happy with my route choices and felt I ran pretty well (for me anyways!!). Ran most of the course alone, which helped, Al and Mace caught me on the way to the 15th and pulled me along to the finish. Backing up tomorrow is going to hurt....
Thanks for a good course Dad :) |
Saturday Mar 22 |
 | Orienteering race (Easter Day 1) 35:15 [5] 3.1 km (11:22 / km) +170m 8:55 / km | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| I'm sure a lot will be said about today..... and what was an enjoyable course will be remembered for the wrong reasons.
My run... started as a Stinger in a Nugget sandwich (2 infront and 3 behind). Over ran 2, which really frustrated me but managed to relocate quickly, however Jas caught me by 4mins on the way to 4, ran with her until 11. On the way to 12, passed 'the control', ignored it as had no flag and was not near or on the feature it was meant to be on. Finished 9th for the day (course cancelled) |

| Event: Australian Easter Three Days and Prologue |
 | Orienteering race 16:18 [5] 2.7 km (6:02 / km) | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Easter Sprint at the Western Plains Zoo... I must admit that I was thinking more about exploring the Zoo after my run than the actual race... A great area for a Sprint thou!! Was pretty happy with my run, didn't make any big errors just managed to confuse myself mainly when leaving the controls, surprised (but happy) with my 10th place |

| Work then drive to Dubbo |
Wednesday Mar 19 |
 | Running 1:10:20 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Flats then hilly run, still pretty hot but happy with the way I'm running in the heat now, hopefully after this weekend I'll also be happy with the way I'm orienteering! |
Tuesday Mar 18 |
 | Running 42:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Morn streets, went into town again today, still not sure if its the best place to run in the dark.... A morning of firsts thou, first time I had to stop for a train when running and first (which I hope doesn't happen again) time I took the wrong keys (took mum and dads house keys not mine!), thankfully Trent hadn't left for Jerilderie yet as I would have been stuffed
|
 | Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| As usual, felt horrible and slow during the warm up.
|
 | Running intervals 25:00 [5] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Not sure what was going on, but after the crappy warm up I was feeling great during the intervals, (4 x 1.3km on Willans tracks) even managed to run my fastest time by 5secs?!?! |
Monday Mar 17 |
 | Running (Recovery) 40:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Easy plod along the River, still nice and warm |
Sunday Mar 16 |
 | Orienteering 59:15 [4] 7 km (8:28 / km) | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| Morning training run at Connorton before the CATI. Was feeling surprisingly good after last nights Dusty Days concert (and yes, it lived up to its name, hot and dusty) and had Sneaky Sound System in my head for the entire run. Bit sloppy with my navigation at the start but managed to hold it together in the rock.
|
 | Orienteering (WaggaRoos CATI) 30:50 [4] 3.1 km (9:57 / km) | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| Come and try it event at Connorton. Had about 20mins rest before heading out again. Rather steep in some places but a good course. I'll now be spending the week picking grass seeds out of my O pants, shoes and socks, fun!! |
Saturday Mar 15 |
 | Running race (Road Runners) 34:54 [4] 7.4 km (4:43 / km) vdot: 42.0 | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Horrible and hot at 1pm for Roadies this week, took the first loop pretty easy running in a group with Carmel, Bruce and Geoff, then took off with Carmel for a bit, managed to get away from her at the first drinks control and then held my lead for the rest, was feeling pretty good at the end. |
Friday Mar 14 |
 | Running 1:35:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Morn long run. Was feeling so much better than last night. Same run as Wednesday arvo except I added an extra loop around Willans Hill.

Thursday Mar 13 |
 | Running 30:30 [3] | |

|
 | Orienteering (Summer Series) 30:00 [3] 6 km (5:00 / km) | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Put my name down for the 45min score but was feeling tired and sore (been moving furniture prior to going) and it was still 35degrees. Got all the controls in Tolland, didn't feel like crossing Red Hill Rd into Bourklelands. Met Mum mid run, being the nice daughter that I am I offered her a drink from my camelpak and she proceeded to guzzle most of it!! Scraped home on 30mins so Pauline was nice enough to change me into that course |
Wednesday Mar 12 |
 | Running 1:10:45 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Same flat then hilly run as last week, this time a fair bit warmer so took camelpak with ice + water. Didn't feel as hard as last week, took my iPod as well to keep me company. Got some weird looks from passing motorists early on, probably wondering why I was running in 35 degree heat?!?! |
Tuesday Mar 11 |
 | Running 41:30 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Morning streets, legs were still feeling very tight. Uphill straight away prob didn't help, feeling a lot better by the end
|
 | Running intervals 25:00 [5] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Long intervals on Willans Hill, very warm, last one was a killer.
|
 | Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Slowest warm up and even slower cool down, felt like crap |
Monday Mar 10 |
 | Cycling (Road) 32:00 [3] | |

| So so sore this morning (don't think driving for 6 hours straight after yesties race helped much). Easy cycle to try and loosen up.

Sunday Mar 9 |
 | Orienteering race (NOL 2) 1:15:15 [5] 7.9 km (9:32 / km) | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| Hmm.. not my best run. Felt very flat from the start and struggled going up the first hill, then to make things worse I over ran #3 and had to climb back up the hill, not happy. Vanessa and Ilka caught me during this stuff up, ran with them on the flat legs to the pivot control. Didn't make any errors on the second loop, prob cos I was going so slow, climb from #16 to #17 nearly had me, was so glad when it was over!! |
Saturday Mar 8 |
| |
| Event: NOL event 1 & 2 |
 | Orienteering race (NOL 1 - Relay) 56:41 [5] 6 km (9:27 / km) | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| NOL 1 Relay with Tracy and Fel. Semi happy with this run, physically I felt horrible, heat and drive down in the morning but technically ok, considering I've been doing most of my training in rock not goldmining terrain. Started to fade at the end of the long leg, as a result was way too high for #10 and then #11 just confused me. |
Friday Mar 7 |
 | Running 55:00 [3] | |
| |
| Boring streets morning run, will have to sus out some more options asap!! Maybe I'll venture into town next week? |
Thursday Mar 6 |
 | Running 30:00 [3] | |

| Morn streets plod
|
 | Orienteering (Summer Series) 41:00 [4] 8.2 km (5:00 / km) | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Possibly the warmest Summer Series of the year so was keen to get it over and done with. Around Mt Austin and Turvey Park (my new suburb, house is just off the map so will have to get it extented for next year). Pretty hilly in some places, ended up with 170 points, thou should have been 180 but got an answer wrong. |
Wednesday Mar 5 |
 | Running 1:11:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Warmest afternoon run for a while and probably needed it before this weekend. First half of the run was basically flat, along Urana St and Glenfield Rd, then started the hills, up to Hilltop and along the fire tracks behind Tatton then hooked onto my old Willans run. Was serioulsy stuffed by the end but it was a good run |
Tuesday Mar 4 |
 | Running 30:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| The good part about moving is working out new running loops, the bad part is that of the four directions you can leave my house from 3 of them involve going uphill, bugger. Short morning streets (with an uphill start), before a long day driving the Barton Highway
|
 | Pilates 30:00 [3] | |
| |
| Needed this after the weekend plus day in the car |
Monday Mar 3 |
 | Running intervals 25:00 [5] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| 4 x 1.3km intervals on Willans, feeling pretty tired after the weekend but have had to shuffle my weeks training around due to work inspections :( Times were the same as last week, between 6.10 and 6.20 (depending on which way I ran the loop).
|
 | Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Very slow warm up, had nearly written the session off before I finished it, legs were feeling very heavy. |
Sunday Mar 2 |
 | Orienteering 1:07:05 [3] 7.8 km (8:36 / km) | |
| shoes: Jalas - new |
| Connorton training. Went out with the parents, Dad set a good course with long legs and some nice short ones. Lots of Kangaroos and Goats roaming the forest, thankfully the spiders weren't as bad but the grass seeds were and spent the trip home picking them out of my pants and socks :( |
Saturday Mar 1 |
 | Running race (Road Runners) 32:46 [5] 7.4 km (4:26 / km) vdot: 45.3 | |
| shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14 |
| Road Runners at Lake Albert, back to the normal 1pm time slot thou thankfully wasn't the normal hot March run. Arms were really sore from moving house this morning and I don't think I was hydrated enough. Was a pretty fun run today, for once ran in a bit of a pack so that kept me going. |
