| Road Runners @ CSU - end of month handicap race. Aim for today was to go under 15mins, did, just! Didnt have the best prep for this run, nearly missed my start, turned up thinking runners went off from 1pm, turns out they now start handicap from 12.50. Ended up getting there 5mins before I started, really needed to go to the loo but didn't have time for that - or a warm up!! Once I got going I was fine, picking off people as I went, fun run.

| Arvo run on Willans Hill and then along the ridge of Red Hill. Mum came over after to work to run with me.... we ran together for 3mins (nice warmup up the hill) and then went different ways. An ok run, at times felt really good but other crap. Was rather annoyed with all the tiny black bugs in the air... getting into my eyes, mouth... everywhere!!

| Local Interclub challenge, Wagga vs Albury @ Livingstone. Good course, steep and physical with some good route choice. Lost 1min going to the first control (to Dad), took the track route instead. Didn't have any navigation probs, caught Dad as he was leaving 6, he was heading up out of the control and me down into it, didn't see him again but beat him by 3mins. Shooters were out at the adjacent range today, got a bit of a fright every time a shot went off!!

| Run back to the parents place after roadies with Dad. Had about a 30sec break (for a drink!) after I finished the short and then we took off. Didnt really know where we were going - went along a crown road and then popped out near the Muddy Duck and onto the river levee in North Wagga, over the Wirdajuri Bridge and then out to Tatton via Kooringal Rd. Wasn't feeling too great, started getting stomach cramps 20mins into the run but pushed on. Good to have Dads company on a long run. | ||

| Lap of Lake Albert to stretch the legs out after my flight home. Legs were feeling rather sore at the start but loosened up after a bit. Trent did two laps on the bike at the same time. Colder than Tassie thou!!
Thought about logging my morning slog up the hill from Phoebe and Jose's place to Lindfield station, wouldn't normally be so bad but after a weekend of o'ing and lugging a 12kg bag plus back pack I struggled big time, had to stop for a couple of breathers!! | ||

| Well... As I said yestie I'm just not 'bush fit', just didn't have the strength up the hills or to fight through the crap on the ground, plus I ran the entire race pretty much by myself so didn't get any speed spurts when someone caught me (or in the odd chance that I caught someone). Didn't make any majors errors, somehow managed to overrun the first one and then was a bit over cautious in the circle at times, took a bit to get used to the 1:15000 scale as well | ||

Stuffed around a bit at 4 as well. The rest of the course was ok, physically hard more than anything, I'm feeling fit but just not 'bush fit' | ||

| Woke up so so sore today, quads, butt.... everything!! Had to go out to Sheahans first thing in the morning and struggled to just walk around site!! Went down to the river after work and went for a plod along the leeve, struggle at the start but felt good for doing it. | ||

| A foggy and chilly morning greeted us in Albury (thou I was happy it wasn't raining, like 2 years ago) for the lovely, steep Nail Can Hill 'fun run'. Felt pretty good at the start and tried not to think about what was to come!! hit the big, never ending hill at the start and just willed myself to run, I forgot how much it hurt!! Didn't see any distance markers until 3km and was 15.38, happy with that considering the climb. The middle part was good, undulating so picked up a bit of time on the downhills.
Went through the 7km at just under 35mins, then we had the scary downhill, some of the guys were going so so fast!! My heart rate was pretty high by the time I got to the bottom, I think thats what helped me get up the final hill to monument hill. Last 2km seemed to take forever, thankfully I didn't get stopped crossing the Riverina Hwy (Dad did and lost 30secs), the flat bit along the Murray at the end was great!! Ended up being just under a minute and a half quicker than my 2006 time (53.49), so super happy, not sure what I placed in the women, will have to wait. Dad did around 56mins and Mum (yes we convinced her to run!) was very surprised and happy with her 76mins. | ||

| Flat then hilly run. Dad came over after work and ran the first 40 or so minutes with me (the mainly flat part!) which was nice, only had to make one unscheduled stop when his mobile rang!! At Red Hill Rd he went down and into Tatton and I headed up Willans. Great weather for running, not too cold and the rain held off.... just hoping it holds off tomorrow for the Wagga Gold Cup!! | ||
