Sunday Mar 25

Event: NSW State League #2 (badge)

Orienteering race 1:04:46 [5] 8 km (8:06 / km) +285m 6:52 / km
shoes: Jalas - old
Nice to have a SL in my own backyard (well nearly), had to remind myself that I wasn't out there for a training run (early starter so weren't too many peopl out there).

Over ran the 2nd control and then totally lost concentration on the long leg to 8, thankfully was able to relocate fairly qucikly. Started to tire by the end, but was pretty happy with my time and place (2nd, Jo did 60.07)

Note
50mins of bush bashing that I didn't think was appropriate to log, but we unfortunately had to send out a search party for Brian Johnson at around 12.30pm, he'd been out since 9.30am, and was the last person out. Six of us headed out, thankfully the local land holder found him. By this time I was on the other side of the map and had a long treck back.

Saturday Mar 24

Event: NSW Sprint Champs (NSW SL1)

Orienteering (Putting out Controls) 50:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Woke up to the lovely sound of rain, just what I wanted today!! 40mins of putting out controls in probably the wettest part of the morning, wasn't enjoyable at all!! Ground was so damn hard that I couldn't get half the controls in. Then spent 10mins checking the controls John put out

Orienteering (Sprint) 16:33 [5] 2.9 km (5:42 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Tested out the Red 1/2/3 course (W/M21A) for the sprint. Arms were sore from putting out controls earlier. Pretty happy with my time compared the offical results, thou guess I kinda had an advantage since I set the course!!

Orienteering (Collecting Controls) 15:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Quick jog around to collect controls, much easier than putting them out!!

Was quite happy with how today went, had the usual pre-race stress out, but with no major stuff ups (main worry - control getting stollen, but since it was wet no-one was out at the uni), can sleep easy now!!

Friday Mar 23

Note
(rest day)
Too hot, too tired and too much stuff to do for the weekend, good excuse(s) for a day off
C • looks like you earned it 1

Thursday Mar 22

Running 38:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Morning run around the Lake. Was still dark, so had to do it reverse so I had some street lights for the first 10mins
Running 49:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Not sure why but I decided to do my Willans run again this afternoon. Was hot (33 degrees, better cool down before the weekend) and I was feeling a bit sore from running it yesterday. But felt good for doing it afterwards.

Wednesday Mar 21

Running 49:30 [4]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Willans run. Ate way too many lollies at work this arvo (oops, but always seems to happen when we stock up the jar!!) and felt rather ill half way round, was yucky and humid again today as well.

Tuesday Mar 20

Running 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus
Afternoon run to Plumpton Hill and home, was sprinkling with rain the whole time, thou not enough to get really wet from!

4 x 500m with a 500m recovery (up and back along the boat club road). Was pretty slow
