Orienteering race (ACT Champs) 1:24:07 [5] 9.5 km (8:51 / km) +315m 7:36 / km
shoes: Jalas - new
ACT Champs at Foxlow Flats, mainly spur gully with a bit of rock and the odd native cherry tree. Started off a bit slow and had to keep reminding myself that this was not a training run!! Pretty happy with my navigating, made a couple of small errors, over ran 13, was a bit off for 17 and over ran 22. Vanessa caught me at 11 and was running pretty strongly and Jo caught me at 22. Ended up coming 4th, 9mins behind the top three but only seconds ahead of Mace. Alright course, not many long legs or route choice.

Saturday Sep 29

Friday Sep 28

Running 1:06:10 [3] 13 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Run to work. Last time I did this it was dark, so was a nice change and summer is definitly coming as I traded in my long tights for shorts this morning. Met Fitzy when I was half way around Lake Albert, ran with him for a bit but his pace was just a bit too fast for my morning body and I wanted to make it to work in one piece!! Looking forward to my rest day tomorrow now!! yay!!

Thursday Sep 27

Running 37:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning lap around Lake Albert, beautiful spring morning
Running 47:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Standard Willans run. Was an alright run, Council have just gone through and graded the main tracks which made for difficult running at times due to newly surfaced rocks. Managed to catch Mum on her cycle home from work at the top of Red Hill road, looking pretty classy with her newly attached cable ties to her helmet! (I look just as cool now)

Cycling (Mtb) 1:05:00 [3]
Nice afternoon cycle.
Yes... there were magpie 'incidents', but I'd rather not put them in words.

Tuesday Sep 25

Running 1:07:15 [3] 13 km (5:10 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 13 (2)
Morning Plumpton/Boiling Down loop. No magpie swooping this morn!! He was there sitting in his tree but made no move, maybe hes worked out I'm no fun anymore, I was happy anyways.

Orienteering 1:16:30 [4] 9.8 km (7:48 / km)
shoes: Jalas - new
Went out to Connorton in the morn (Mmm flex days) for a last bit of bush bashing before Oceania. Felt more like early summer than spring, was quite quite warm!!

Dad set me two loops, one 6km loop with some long legs with route choice and a shorter one with a lot of shorter legs. Found the first loop pretty good, no major mistakes. Stuffed around a lot on the second loop, had a fair bit of trouble with one control, which happened to be the pivot control, thankfully found it better the second time.

Cycling (Mtb) 55:00 [3]
Soon this will no longer be my training log, but my magpie attack log. Met the most persistent magpie of the seaon yet, I was riding along some road in Hilltop and there he was banging away at my helmet, I kept going for a bit as usually they don't venture to far past their nest (which I have no idea where it was as it's a fairly new subdivision with little to no trees!!), I ended up stopping, then starting again, he attacked again, so I stopped and walked. A bunch of school kids were walking the opposite way, so he gave up on me and took after them.... not happy!!!

Apart from the above incident was a good cycle, I once again confirmed that I am not a mountain bike rider... ventured up on Red Hill, the tracks are pretty good, but I'm hopeless!! I didn't fall off thou!! from here found a new track that took me up to Hilltop (prob a good running track) and then went around the back of the hill to Springvale and out Gregadoo Rd.
