Orienteering race (QB3 - Day 2) 1:26:55 [5] 9.3 km (9:21 / km) +210m 8:24 / km
shoes: Jalas - new
QB3 Day 2 on "Limekiln Creek for Big Kids", didnt realise this was the same place we ran the 06 NSW Champs. Enjoyable area, technical in places and very vague in others, especially in areas of green.

Started off well in the mining areas, then took a weird route to #4 where Jo caught me. Was really happy with the way I was running/navigating til #9, left the 'track' after #8 a bit too early and ended up fighting through a lot more green than I needed to and then after a bit more bush bashing things didnt look right. Made myself stop still and work out where I was... I ended up being on the ridge we ran along from #4 to #5, was super happy with how well I relocated, it could have gotten very messy!!! Ran the rest of the course well, tiring by the end.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]
Warm up on the way to the start. No cool down, I was cold enough already and hungry, so straight off to the Bungendore Bakery

Event: QBIII

Orienteering race (QB3 - Day 1) 32:23 [5] 4.5 km (7:12 / km) +45m 6:51 / km
shoes: Jalas - new
QB3 Day 1 on new map 'Wild Deer Sands', pretty fun area, flattish and technical but with a fair bit of fallen timber for me to stumble over. Started off terribly, was on the right line to #1 but then drifted back south and found 158 also on a termite before mine, reclocated easily but lost prob 1 and a half mins. Rest of the course was heaps of fun, got a bit scared going into #2 as I could here chainsaws going rather close to the control! Happy with the way I navigated in the technical stuff and felt like I was running ok.

Warm up - running to start with Dad, then running back to the car to get his drink bottle and then back to start. Cool down - run back to the finish to see Cam and Mum before they started

Friday Jun 6

Cycling (Road) (Windtrainer) 30:00 [3]
shoes: Shimano
Still not feeling 100% today which is annoying. Dad got my bike/windtrainer fixed, Ive gotten 4 flat tyres whilst using the trainer since March, took the bike and trainer back to the shop and got a new, thicker tyre put on, hopefully that solves the prob!!

Strength and Conditioning 20:00 [2]

Wednesday Jun 4

Running 29:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14
Morning plod around the streets, no rain whilst running but lots of puddles to run through in the dark

Running 35:00 [3] 7 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14
Evening run up on to Willans, along the main track and then around the streets with Dad. Nice easy pace to allow us to chat and negotiate the traffic. As we ran along Bourke St, a cyclist headed towards us... wearing sunnies at 5.30pm... who else could it be than Mum cycling home from work, no wonder she says its always dark by the time she cycles home!!

Strength and Conditioning 20:00 [2]

Running 53:30 [3] 11 km (4:52 / km)

2 laps of Lake Albert, sprinkling with rain at times which was nice. A bit too dark for my liking by the time I finished

Monday Jun 2

Running 57:15 [3]
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14
Ridge run from home. Nice long slow climb up to the top of Willans and then along the ridge line to Hill Top, turned around and came home. Feeling a lot better than yestie, nice views of the sun setting over Pommy from the top of Willans as well.
