from the new gaff, no route in mind at all just enjoyed cutting about in the traffic, ended up in danderhall after a while then cut back across to portobello. Single speed so much fun, more physical than usual but great craic.

Creagan Gorm and Meall a Bhuachaille with michael

Decent loop this, out along tracks past badaguish where we stopped for a quick go on the rings of death, just to confirm i still can’t do it rip, then up onto the ridge. Favourite part by far was the descent off the last top, rarely feel so relaxed and controlled running downhill like that, so much fun. Shorts chafing a bit towards the end ouch.

Moor of Alvie tekkers
Trying to bring it together although feeling like i’d rather go to sleep - managed to bring the motivation by listening to teenage dream at a deafening volume on the way to Kincraig. Tekkers very nice, apart from #15 where was just completely bamboozled by the contours. Some excellent skog in there, we really have visited some quality this week. Legs not too shagged all things considered although the time has come to consolidate.

Missed this for some reason back in november, been threatening to come back ever since. Absolute quality area, been a while since my first visit for the lagganlia champs in 2019. Goal today was just running in a straight line as much as possible, worked pretty well today quite happy with how the trace looked. Legs apparently feeling pretty good as well, happy days.

Grantown northern urban league

Lovely high spirited basoc event was a pleasure to attend. Almost perfect nav, apart from #8 where I was so certain there was a gap in a fence I ran all the way there, stood there for half a minute looking for the gap, and then went all the way round again oops - very blind probably lost two and a half minutes? not certain. Was cooking with the pace in the first half then stomach started feeling sore and had to lay off the gas somewhat. Great fun though.

Dallaschyle brown course from a couple months ago

Was using a scanned, emailed and then printed version of michael’s map, so scale-less and unreadable in the detailed parts, but that was generally okay. Bigger problem was just a lot of undergrowth and crap lying about, tough to make decent progress without a racing mindset. That in mind took it fairly chill and tried to be as clinical as possible, although wasn’t feeling amazing so didn’t have great focus.

Three loops each one slightly shorter than the last, moderately technical but nothing crazy. Good to get moving a bit more compared with the last few days, actually felt pretty decent and was comfortable enough to read/plan quite nicely. Much enjoyed.

Culbin tekkers with the platoon - bish finn finlay lozza

Good quality training, possibly the most appreciable element was running with the others and trying to remain focussed on my own process, a skill which has certainly been lacking of late. Compass not too bad although still plenty of occasions where I don’t pay attention to it and run with my heart instead. Otherwise just lovely to be back here, impossible not to enjoy a sunny morning on the dunes.
