Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 45:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

good one, still improving technique, hope to increse some weight next time. I got my new HR monitor!

Wednesday Nov 29, 2006 #

Running 40:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Nort face

one of the worst running experiences: pitch black, deep puddles and mud every other step, rain mixed w/ snow, anyway, I was happy to be done w/ it.

Biking hills (Spinning) 45:00 [5]
shoes: Shimano

this was a good spent 45 min. I tried to push myself all the time, but we won't know for sure till I get my new HR monitor, can't wait!

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

felt great. I might add a bit more weight next time.

just returned this heart rate monitor, F6, as it was really not doing much, and getting a new one, see how that works!

Running long 1:15:00 [4] 7.0 mi (10:43 / mi) +400m 9:06 / mi
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Run w/ Phil the black loop at Lapham peak, adjusted. We hopped to the tower, very nice view, and did the extended loop to refill on water...but all the bubblers were sut down..so that was a bummer!

I was quite tired from the day before, half way through barely dragging my legs...oh, well, I'll get better :)

Friday Nov 24, 2006 #

Running long 1:40:00 [4] 9.5 mi (10:32 / mi) +150m 10:02 / mi
shoes: BROOKS Radius

Nashotah Park, with ultra runners. Very nice people! with crazy goals, but still very nice.

I could have stopped at 6 miles, but I got convinced to do one more loop, my quads were killing me on the last mile!!!

Stretch/Strength (Cyclo Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

This was like a half-n-half, spinning and weights. Well, for me it was more like half-n- a quarter, as I was almost dead from the cyclo part. However, I finally learned how to do bicep work.

Running 36:00 [3] 3.6 mi (10:00 / mi)
ahr:152 max:168 shoes: BROOKS Radius

not sure if the HR data is mine or maja's, as she's usually got a lower HR..and this time around she was 10bpm more than me.

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [4]

I may not be back to square one, ... but if I squint really hard, square one becomes quite visible. Will I ever get any stronger, oh well, if I can't run fast, maybe I can at least look fast ?
If I'll ever train for a marathon, i'll miss this body pump!

Running 1:18:49 [3] 7.0 mi (11:16 / mi) +350m 9:45 / mi
ahr:159 max:179 shoes: BROOKS Radius

Ran the Lapham Peak - Black Loop with my old buddies. It was so much fun so run w/ so many people! jeremy stood us up, but that's not unusual for him. First time i tracked my heart rate, it may not be great example, as we did walk some and stopped here and there (i was part of the slow pack, that had some variations in speed). I know I can do this loop in 1:15 easily, and 1:12 pushing it, so the extra 6 min were the hanging out time.

Thursday Nov 16, 2006 #

Running 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
ahr:150 shoes: BROOKS Radius

Ran w/ Jeremy in Men Falls park. Pitch dark and stepped in a big doggie poo. Saturday we're doing the black loop....

Stretch/Strength (Body Pump) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: BROOKS Radius

I could tell I have not done it in a while. Felt quite tired and had to drop the weight a little bit.

Tuesday Nov 14, 2006 #

Running 29:17 [4] 3.0 mi (9:46 / mi)

time includes warm up for about 5 min

Orienteering long 1:40:00 [3] *** 9.2 km (10:52 / km)
shoes: Integrators

I just loved my new O shoes, no blisters, so comfy to run off trails and on the gravel road as well!

Pakim Pond was about same type of forest, slightly more runnable than Wharten Park. And no bogs, whew, that made me happy! The club (DVOA?) did a good job organizing this event, I could not detect one glitch!

See rest of comments on Saturday.

One note: if anyone is reading this: don't stay at the Red Carpet Inn in Hammonton..it is a dump! We did not have one blanket in the room, so we asked for one, and they answer "Do you really need a blanket?". I thought they were joking, but they were not...and I have a few more other stories, but that's enough complianing for one day :)

Event: BATONA 500

Orienteering race 1:20:00 [3] *** 6.3 km (12:42 / km)
shoes: VJ's

Batona: Wharton State Park - reminded me of the forest back home in Bucharest (Baneasa) where I used to train back in the days. Flat, tons of trails, well, the blueberries were an added "bonus". So, that made quite easy courses (I mean, no matter what you did, if you ran 100m past your control, you hit the next trail :)

I did enjoy their fall colors (in WI all leaves are dead by now), but, the O in WI forests is still the best :)

Anyway, regarding my performance: my times definetely did not reflect the time I put into training lately. I could find a ton of reasons to blame on, but I'll skip to the good part: I did not feel exhausted!!Even after the long on Sunday, I was ready for 5 more k easily. So, it has to do with either stamina or no hills (I like to believe it's the first :)

It felt good, well, yeah, I was sick of hoping through the blueberries, so soon enough I was happy to take ANY trail route, even if it doubled the distance. Especially for the long legs (which I ran, on Sunday!)
